My wife used our debit card at local department store Saturday evening.On Sunday she goes to pay for mothers day flowers at local greenhouse and card was denied.We found out that our fraud division of our credit union had locked account.Seems some low life piece of sh**t had got her credit and expiration date and sold them on internet.Their were two charges totaling 800.00.The fraud unit locked card after first charge to department store of 465.00. We live in Ohio and charges were made in California.Later through fraud unit we were told people in line behind you will use cell to take picture of card and date then blow them up to retrieve numbers.If these people would spend half the energy to find work rather than stealing they would be CEO's.The good news is we have fraud protection on our credit and debits cards and money was returned. I would like to have about one hour in closed room with these bastards and give them some Irish justice. Rant over.Remember palm your cards.

I had a jc penneys card in a truck that was stolen. In the first day it was ran up over 4K!
A young woman was arrested and just said she took the card when someone gave her a ride in my truck. It also led to the gang watching my house, stealing a fortune in guns, and she got next to no time! The story is much longer, but I HATE the judical system in california!

I just finished replacing all my credit cards because of credit card fraud. They hit me for FTD flowers, Match.com, New Balance shoes, and Dell computers.

I signed up for Lifelock. They put a fraud alert on my credit info for 90 days and I can renew that for another 90 days. So far, so good. It's not just the credit card fraud but it's possible that they could use my credit info to buy a car, RV or whatever, and then not pay for it.

Around here there are constantly court cases where they catch the crooks. They report some of the nasty details, and how the charges are for identity theft of 6 or 8 people, and the amounts stolen range well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then the sentence handed down is usually a year or two years. After all, it is just theft. And usually the people hurt get most of the money from insurers, or the credit card companies take the loss.

Then they complain about high interest rates on the cards. And how the evil credit card companies don't have any feelings for the little guy. They never consider where the big mean credit card companies get the money to absorb losses.

Here is a different type of theft. Years a go I worked with a guy who was contacted my Miami police and asked if he made repeated credit card buys from an Export company there. He said no and explained there had been no charges on his card.

The LEO explained they were reporting fake sale made by credit card. The hold scam was a money laundry operation an suspose this is how the illegal money was cleaned

The sad part of this is as our economy goes further into the dumpster, this sort of crime will grow in scope. It would be good therapy to thump the snot out of em!

My wifes card was stolen several years ago. They charged over $20,000! They ordered a $7000 pool table to be delivered in California. She was not liable for the charges thank goodness. I couldn't believe the CC company approved all the charges!

If they stole our cards they'd get denied buying a bottle of water. Trouble is we would too.
