Last year I pruned some fig bushes that are about 5 feet in diameter. This year they are(for the first time) really putting on the figs! They are far from ripe but I was wondering,do I need to thin out the crop on the tree?

I really don't know, but we've never thinned out ours. The figs are getting there and will put out nature's candy till the first frost. We only have one tree, but like a zillion figs :)

I never did - I let mine get tall so I could pick them from my deck :). In this picture it's about 15 feet tall and the same width.

Now I've moved too far north and west for one to grow, plus it's too shady at my new house :(

I really miss them.

Thank you both !! I'll leave 'er be !And yes they are better than candy and make the BEST preserves!!:D
