Was reading an article yesterday on a town in Germany — where the coronavirus is pretty much under control due to measures like universal wearing of masks — with a nice lake. The town is in the midst of a brouhaha over nude swimming.
Those in favor are against a city ordinance that would take away their liberty, the God-given right to swim nude. Those against don’t want their eyeballs unduly assaulted.
I thought it an interesting contrast to our society and the controversy over mask wearing.
(No word on whether the nude swimmers were wearing masks while on the beach, but, I assume so!)
I think in our society those who choose to wear masks would be more likely to support nude swimming than those who do not, but that’s just a guess, of course.

Funny, I just read a news story about a nude beach on a lake in Minneapolis, where the police sent a video drone, followed up by cops, since they're not supposed to be nekkid there. The nudists got uppity so the cops left.

I think you’re right. One of those cultural paradoxes. The closest thing to our anti-mask advocates in Germany are those fighting speed limits on the Autobahn, by the way. Same arguments. “Freedom” reduced to a very narrow issue.

I'm in that 95% that a little better with a little clothing on. I look a lot better with lots of clothing on. But I look Absolutely Great, fully clothed and inside a house surrounded a forest on an island miles from anyone else!

Well, they announced today that starting on Monday, face coverings will be required. It's a bit comical considering the range of body coverings their customers sometimes wear.

I had to deliver to a client once who was part of a ‘naturist’ community.
The volleyball game I saw on the way in left an indelible impression on young me, not in a good way !

A couple years ago I was very lethargic and tired all the time and my doc said my testosterone was way below normal and got me taking Testosterone Cypionate and it got my testosterone levels way above average for my age. I immediately started feeling stronger, more energized, and more virile but I soon noticed something was terribly wrong! Even the women at Walmart looked good to me.

If you're traveling overseas, get ready for an eye-opener. I just hit Sarajevo tonight; I have a little clean-up to do over the next few weeks before I am completely retired.
If you're an American going to the European Union, you can't go unless you have a permanent resident card or a business visa. Bosnia is not in the EU, but I have a resident card and proper visa. Austrian Airlines suddenly suspended flights as of today to all of the Western Balkans; we knew that was coming, so I took Turkish Air to Istanbul, then to Sarajevo.
If you walk into an airport anywhere, including the US, without a mask, you'll be immediately stopped and provided one that you have to put on or be escorted out. American Airlines requires you wear a mask on their planes unless eating or drinking; they'll give you bottled water and a prepackaged snack if you want - I saw no meals on the two domestic flights I took. If you refuse to wear a mask before the flight starts, they'll boot you out; if you take it off and won't put it back on during the flight, they won't let on another American flight. Turkish Air had the same rules.
Lines to get boarding passes at any carrier sending Americans toward Europe are easily an hour long, and you have to have your credentials in hand. They take your temperature with a cool-looking gun before you get to the counter - too hot and you're out of the line.
After security and before boarding, they'll take your temp again.
When I changed planes in Istanbul, they took my temp one more time. At the Sarajevo Airport, you are zipped through immigration if your papers are right, then are allowed to baggage claim, then you go out! No greeters are allowed inside, and even outside they have to be 1.5 meters apart.
At Istanbul and Sarajevo, they had painted warnings/decals on the floor to show you proper social distancing; they were on every 3rd step on the escalators as well.
On the planes, flight crew do their best to keep people boarding or leaving socially distanced, but it's really difficult.
In town in Sarajevo, people outside are staying well apart, people inside nearly all wear masks unless eating. Our deaths per million are over 425; in Bosnia, they are under 80 per million.
Just passing this along - now you know.

@ OP, I am surprised these locations are even allowing international travel. My vacation was supposed to be in the UK; last I heard, if we fly over, we have to self isolate for 14 days before venturing out.
Feel bad for the folks who rely on tourism (and everyone impacted by this).

Yes, if you can get into the EU or UK (I am pretty sure you need a business visa), 14 day self-isolation is required. I forgot to mention that the airlines make you fill out a form in-flight of where you'll be, where you came from, what seat you're in, etc.
