I've went to two different Wal Marts in two different states in the last week and had the ability to purchase:

.38 Special FMJ
.38 Special +P JHP

.40 S&W FMJ

.45 ACP FMJ

I purchased a total of 200 rounds of .38 Special.

This is encouraging.

The odd thing to me still is the lack of .22

Had the same experience using the app traveling this week. Restocked what I had shot-500 9mm plus 38 Sp for my son. Nice to see!

I wish it was the same around here. Same group of people staking out the Wally Worlds locally (LGS owners and retirees). We also live in a tourist destination so that makes it even worse.

It seems to have slowed up considerably around here. 22LR has stopped showing up, and what was 3 or 4 shipments of ammo a week has slowed to 1 time a week if we are lucky.

.45 did show up last night but nothing else.

Smoke, its the same here around the Wilmington NC area. Same group of people stalking the local Walmarts and getting friends and family to by everything as soon as it hits the shelves. Glad I reload.:)

I had to give a friend a bit of .22 LR yesterday. He ran into me and listed four local Walmarts, Gander Mtn. Dick's and several LGS's he'd been to over the past week and none had a single blessed round of .22LR.

The only .22 LR ammo showing up at the LGS is one ten bucket case of Remington Golden Bullet 1400 'Bucket of Bullets' per week. They have names on a list. One bucket to each person in order of aging on the list. None of the ammo hits the display.

Frangible bullet 9MM, 40 S&W and .45 ACP is on the shelves, but it is $25 s box for 9MM, $28 for .40 and $32 for .45.

.25 Auto and .380 Auto ammo is non-existent.

.223/5.56 MM NATO, 7.62X39R and .308/7.62X51 are showing up in multiple case quantities. The normal hunting cartridges are returning, except for .30-30 Winchester! .45-70 is really hard to find too.

Does anyone know why .22's are so scarce?

I would think 9mm, .40S&W, and .45 ACP would be hardest hit.

But .22's?

Simply the number of guns out there in .22 has to be more than in any other caliber. People also have the habit of putting many more .22 downrange in any given range session.

Walmart here had several cases of 45acp yesterday, I picked up 100 rounds and left the rest for others.

I've noticed more stock in my area too. I've seen lots of powder, primers, and handguns where there was nothing just a few weeks ago. When I mentioned it at one of the shops they said that things seem to be easing up a little.

And the lack of 9mm.

Yesterday, getting groceries at WM

Another "hit".

One box of .40S&W (just one box but a box non the less)

They did have some 9mm but it was three boxes of Tul Ammo.

I don't own a 9 and if I did, I wouldn't put Tul through it.

Still, it seems to be getting better.

Use to be there was absolutely nothing.

Now, at least you have a chance
