A large portion of people in this country are like hogs under an apple tree. They never look up to see where they're coming from and all they care about is that the apples don't cost them anything and that more and more of them keep falling no matter what it cost the rest of us!

I've emailed the Webmaster for this site to see if I can find out how to get a copy of this presentation. I know a number of places I'd like to supply it to for viewing. I have also been asked about how to do this by a couple of emails and I'll post the information if and when I hear anything.

I don't know what system you are using but this plays on my machine using Windows Media Player.

Not real sure, Some I try to save and find they are in MP4 format.

My system came with MP3 that had an error in the file, never could use it.
Copied something recently that was in MP4
had to download MP4 system off the web, got a virus that norton could not fix.
Most brilliant people on the planet write stuff you can't read.
Sorta like paying interest on someone elses debt.

THANK YOU for the link!! I intend to post it in a large number of forums; I think it is critically important for as many people as possible to see this.

I have been arguing with people for years about the differences between a Republic and a Democracy, and I keep getting, "Well, we're a Republican Democracy!" I want to scream.

This might very well be one of the critical tools we need to take back our nation.

A democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. Or to paraphrase that old saying, two anti-gunners and me voting on what's in my pocket.

The original quote is from Benjamin Franklin. He said: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."

No. 1 problem is most people think their 1 vote won't amount to anything.
No. 2 Problem is most of congress have not been told their job is to vote the peoples wishes instead of their own.
the trick is to flood the congress with mail.

That file is in "FLV" format, which needs the
"flash" codec to run, if I'm not mistaken.
FLV is the same format as a you-tube video.
If you can watch you-tube, you should be able to
watch this video.
If you go download the free flash player, it
should add the codec to let it run either with
a flash player, or with media player.
Using firefox and it's downloader program, it's
simple to download the video.
Now, whether it's copyright restricted or not,
I dunno..
I'm downloading the video now, just to see
how big the file is.. It's 35.1 MB..
I use the "wimpy" FLV player to play FLV
files standalone.. It's free on the web.
So... The video is on my hard drive now..

I'm going to bump this back to the Top because it seems there are still a pretty fair number of people who don't even know where they live. Just a hint This is a Republic and God forbid it ever becomes a Democracy!!!

Thanks for the link. It's something I have always known without the benifit of having it put into such clear perspective.

God bless our Republic!

Right now the "Link" is taking you to the Right page but there is now an "Advertisement" over the top of the video. At the bottom there is a "Button" that says "Close to Play" so you can by-pass the Ad.

I think it is impressive that if you go to the "Home" page they offer several options for other videos BUT this is the one that Pops Up when you push the Link for the most watched video!!!

I'm very glad that I was sent this and was able to pass it along.

KKG,

great video. That looks all to familiar. Thank you.

WE must stick together, or we shall fall as individuals.

Folks,
A democracy is mob rule!!

I have always thought we were both. A Republic because the form of government is based on elected officials rather than hereditary elite, the Head of State/Head of Government is chosen through an electoral process as are both houses of the national legislature. A Democracy because an electoral process is used that requires popular participation and the franchise is one of the main ways in which citizenship is defined. And the vote is a right, not a privilege.
One thing to remember is the USA is an organically grown republic and democracy. None of the colonies was founded on the monarchical/aristocratic principle. No "Duchy of New Jersey", e.g. In 150 years of colonial history only one American was elevated to the
nobility-William Pepperell. Royal governors were appointed but the idea took root very early that elected representatives were to be the main policy and decision makers.

Since it seems folks are still reading this I'm going to bump it back to the top again.

I don't have time at the moment to read the whole thread, but the following comes to mind.
"I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to The Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

the sad part is that it the shift from democracy to oligarchy is happening now, we americans are clinging to our rights written in law by a bare thread and I fear that there is nothing we can do about it but fight like we have been, with the NRA and other associations we can keep it how it is and maybe one day make it a little better but I fear it will never be a republic again
