When phone solicitations call asking for my wife I put on my best bubba voice and holler "she don't live here anymore and if you see her tell her to bring back my *** ****** remote!!"

Yeah, the most recent gun magazine solicitations matched the name and address spelling used when I renewed my NRA membership.
No worries . . . mailing me a solicitation just costs the sender either time or money or both.
"I received 5 letters for the crappyest gun rags yesterday! I guess my name & address got sold also. The gun mags I get are American Rifleman, Guns Magazine, American Handgunner & Handloader. Taking both posts and answering makes me wonder if it was NRA. For years just to track thing I make up a different middle initial/name when I subscribe to different magazines. None of the come-ons came in with a wrong middle initial. The NRA has right info! Cannot prove anything, but it does make you wonder!
I haven't been getting any phone call's but they are sending me stuff in the mail even my wife is getting catalog's from Midway, Broenells and Natchez and they even got her first name right, how they got that I don't know.

FWIW - years ago I started to add a different "middle initial" to my name on magazine, contests, subscriptions, etc. It was amazing how much these companies share names (or sell) with each other. One total shock was when I contributed to a LEO related non-profit organization - I was placed on over a dozen similar non-profit organizations. Anyway - try it!
Alert! Leo related non-profits are not related to LEO's.
My step son went to work for one of them in S and 1st 2 years of college. The solicitor gets 90 some percent and usually a city exec gets the money.
He said it is one of many scams his corp did. One guy that worked for me donated every year and put the sticker in his rear window thinking it would help if pulled over. WRONG on that one.
I tend to donate to numerous LEO, VET, Wounded Warrior programs, I first request a itemized breakdown of where the money goes, how much, then I check. Last week a " wounded Vet" org called, I asked for the info and he hung up!! Be Safe,
