Hey all,
I came across Cabela's national library & they've a special buy on 4506's.I do not yet possess a .45 so kinda thought this would be a good one.
Thinking of buying one to keep my 5906 company...which by the way, I HIGHLY recommend a 5906 for those considering one.
Anyway, The 4506's are LEO trade ins & they have about 100 or so of them.
Good gun,bad gun?????
Input is appreciated.
Here's the link. Just save me one ok??:D

most excellent pistol, i have one. they are heavy but great shooters and built tough.

Yep, all my guns thus far are solid & beefy as a handgun should be. I don't like composite unless it's in a rifle stock.
Everything I buy, I plan to keep forever....& if it isn't U.S. built, I don't want it (with exception to SIG & Walther :) )

I also have been looking at a 4506.I had a 645 years ago.and rapid city SD is a nice city I have been there .

Buy it, shoot it, love it. Finest full size 45 to ever come out of S&W.

LAPD guys love this pistol. It is accurate and reliable and DURABLE! Plus it looks good doing all that! ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered one.

No worries, they said they have over 50 of the 4506's in stock. :)

They also have some 4516-1's with after market night sights for the same price. Regards 18DAI.

I carried a 4566 for several years (agency mandated a double-action pistol) and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. I didn't like the magazine disconnect feature or the long double action pull, but it was accurate and never failed to feed.

Big, heavy, very reliable, good accuracy. Very good guns, just be careful of the side-plate if you remove the grips, it is easily bent/damaged.

i carried 1 for 15+ years & still love it....but Big, heavy, very reliable, good accuracy. Very good gun....had to witch over to a lighter gun (M&P9) well so did the hole dang dept

Well....I adore my 9mm 5906, but I wouldn't want it as a duty weapon. Especially if someone on a 5-day meth binge was charging at me!

I'll be at Cabela's all day today for the spring marine parts dealer expo. Gonna TRY to behave, but 8-hours THERE?!?!

Heck, There's 9mm fmj ammo on sale for $10 box. That's $5 less than what I've been paying. Well, I DO need another dry box anyways:cool:

I'd jump on that price! I love my 4506!:D

Thats a good price, I bought one about 20 years ago and it still shoots as good as new. They don't have the best trigger but will feed anything that you can stuff in a mag - even empty cases. They are a good investment as well -- there price will just get higher as the years go on.

You guys are killing me! After looking at the 4506's at the Cabela's in South Dakota I went ahead and bought one AND I bought a 4516-1 too! They have 3 4516 and 20 4506's left. Come on Fed Ex.
