Third Generations vs. M&P Line?

I must confess, I have been thinking about retiring my 3rd gens.........

My go to carry is an old 4013 single stack, shoots well and is accurate. I also have a 4566, 5906, and a 3913. I bought a MP 40 FS a few years back, wanted to jump into the Tupperware world since many friends had them and as an instructor I wanted to have one for teaching. Well.......I also recently got a MP 45 Fs and it shoots very very nice. Looking at a shield, and maybe a 40 C........

Am I coming down with something? Is it the difficulty in finding holsters? Sights?

I still love the old girls, but these new ones......Something about them. Maybe I need a support group.

Tupperware *does* have a purpose (as covered elsewhere in this thread) but it has no soul. It is a tool... a cheap, lightweight, crude, disposable tool. The triggers are absolutely horrible here in MA (as required by law) and the magazines are limited to 10-rounds, but you may not have those problems where you live. But they do come with a warranty and parts are available (and plenty of holsters too).

It's okay to buy and own plastic. It doesn't mean you have to give up your 3rd Gens and it doesn't mean you need a support group. It's cheap to buy plastic. They don't cost all that much brand new and they are even cheaper "slightly used"! I even own some of those modern plastic wonder guns myself.

But when I have a little money in my pocket and I visit the LGS, sometimes I have a choice: Put it into a "slightly used" classic all-metal handgun or buy the latest & greatest modern plastic wonder gun? The choice for me is a very easy one.

Oh, I do get your point... and especially how tragic it is given our state's and nation's history. The problem is that the moonbats (and their enablers, followers & social-welfare dependents) now outnumber the normal rational working/tax-paying people and have for quite a while now. Math is the problem. The moonbats simply have more votes than we do. We can organize all we want... we are still going to be out-voted. Change really isn't possible. Truth is that it's only going to get worse. A lot worse. Escape, if you can do it, is the only real answer.

This was an outstanding point, and very well stated. And unfortunately, we're rapidly approaching the point where this will apply to the entire country, not just a few states.
