I've been trying for months to get my 5903 sighted in. I did it off a rest and every time I got it close, I'd give the sights one or two last clicks and I'd completely lose the shots. I mean I had NO idea where the shots were going. I was even shooting it SA. I know that I'm not great shakes with a pistol (carbines are my first love) but I can usually get the shots on target with semi or revolver, especially at SD distances out to around 10 yards. If I couldn't I certainly wouldn't depend on pistols for SD. I was very careful of grip, finger control, everything involved in shooting a pistol. After a half dozen range sessions, I swore up and down something was wrong with the sights or the gun, the FIRST time I ever felt that way. Well, finally, it came together and it was ME after all. All I can figure is that I shoot too many different types of handguns and what works for most might not work for all of them. My son has a Springfield XD that is an excellent gun that I never shot much, but when I did I was terrible with it. Anyway, after all this I think I learned something about shooting discipline that will make me better in the future. See pic. Shot at 5,10 and 25 yards.

Don't know what kind or brand of ammo you are shooting but I can tell you that some of the new Polymer coated bullets I bought for reloading reek havoc on my 45acp Gold Cup National Match. Up to 50 rounds if fine, then accuracy suffers greatly! Took me a while to figure that out. Cleaning requires a good Phosphor Bronze brush and Hoppes - then all is good for another 50 shots. Obviously I will not buy these bullets again but will shoot them up.

Make SURE your barrel is pristinely clean, then try again. You could also try different ammo and let a "good shot" try your pistol and see how he does with it.

Usually I start with my 41 , then move on to my PC guns and if I have time go to one of my semi auto pd , 908s , 3953 or CS9, 40 or 45 . When I switch from a PC gun to another S&W semi , I'll be all over the place . The change from a PC trigger to a regular trigger is night and day . I can see where you're coming from talking about switching up guns and having troubles . And if it's one I haven't shot in a while , it's usually a couple of mags until I get my touch back .
