This fell off my bodyguard 2.0

Trigger pull works every time.

Morons cause NDs all the time!

Pulled the trigger. The "lever" is the ejector itself, right?

Yes, the "lever" is the ejector. Mine was very stiff when the gun was new and could not be pressed down even with moderate effort if I pressed on outside end of the ejector. I eventually found that pushing the lever from the inside (toward the back of the gun) forward and down worked. After a short while I can now easily push the ejector down from the outside end or tip.

Not sure why people would want to pull the trigger when it's simple to press the ejector down as recommended in the owner's manual since you have to press it own again anyway to re-assemble the slide to the frame.

Not entirely accurate. I use the 'pull trigger' technique to disassemble and don't have to push the ejector down to reassemble.

I had the same problem

I purchased the bodyguard 2.0 this weekend as a gift for my wife. I took it home to clean it and after I took the slide off and turn the grip upside down the same part just fell off. Customer service has told me I just need to send it back in and wait 4 to 6 weeks. I'm not a happy camper

That's BS for sure!

"Never seen that before" is probably a stock answer due to possible liability suits in today's sue em society.

I had an issue with a Kahr Tommy Gun, well documented and complained about by many on a number of forums. Extractor would break out of the grooves machined in the bolt, metal embrittlement, both sides of it. Happened during my first fifty rounds of .45 ACP. Called customer service, stock answer was "never seen that before".

It was pretty evident with the number of posts and photos floating around that their customer service people had their eyes closed…..

I just purchased this gun today. The guy at the gun store who sold it to me, demonstrated the takedown using the trigger pull as described by others in this thread. The instructions that come with the gun describes pushing down on the ejector during the process of removing the slide. I like to go with the manufacturers recommendation. However, using the trigger pull seems to me a much better way of disassembly and it does not require messing around with the ejector (a source of some of the problems mentioned here.) I would be interested to hear what Smith and Wesson comment on this would be.

I have still not received my bodyguard 2.0 back. It has been over a month now.

I'm doing the ejector method from now on that way I know exactly what's happening and how much force, not that that was related to my problem. I have terrible luck with guns it seems or the industry has just really gone downhill as a whole. My 40 year old inherited 80's guns have less issues, and by far.

"Never seen that before" is typical response. SW better get their act together on the M&P line if they plan on staying in the race. My 5" M&P is back for warranty, second time now since it didn't work AFTER the first return. Love my SW wheel guns, not too fond of the plastic autos. Live and learn I guess.

For the life of me I can't understand how a mfgr that can build such superb revolvers make such inferior semi's.

This is the same company that made models 41 & 52, among THE best guns ever designed or produced.

To me, the entire M&P line looks cheap, feels cheap shoots cheap. For strictly polymer guns, CZ, FN & H&K are all much better designed, built & performers.

My .o2

I sent mine back as well and it has been over a month and I have not gotten it back yet.

Whats the big freaking deal about pushing the extractor down with an eraser on a pencil or similar non marring easily available item. I do it the way the manual says since the manufacturer wrote it. Weird huh?

Call me nuts, but that picture (OP) of the part that came out, looks exactly like the "Safety Lever" on a Sig P365 where a pin goes through the middle.

Never heard that before ... Like a broken record.
Harley-Davidson, Ram, Jeep, Ford, S&W ...

Give it a year or so and S&W will have all the bugs worked out. Its not really a Bodyguard. S&W was kind of dumb to name it a bodyguard 2.0 when it strays so much from the original. I basically expect anything new to have teething problems these days in the first year. Sometimes its just getting the manufacturing dialed in. I will most likely pick up the 2.0 in a year or two after the hype has died down and whatever issues they might have are known. Im patient with manufacturers though.

S&W may have some issues sometimes with their new offerings but they typically get it dialed in. Wish I could say the same for Ruger. Im still waiting for the LCP Max to get more consistent.. if ever. I remember the 1st early versions of the Bodyguard 1.0s having problems but that was resolved fairly quick.

Could just be a loose pin on that ejector. Make a new pin thats a little bigger or try some green gel vibratite. If that doesnt work you can go to role pins. I have not torn one of these apart yet to see the areas involved. I will say im not a fan of S&W going the 2 part feed ramp on these. Time will tell on the Bodyguard 2.0. Right now its hot but that can change on a dime as soon as someone else offers their new version of doublestack 380. Im anxious to see what Beretta comes up with. A double stack Pico with good ergos, steel subframe, and +P capable would blow this new bodyguard out of the water IMO.
