Firearm Owner's ID? Yeesh that's kind of unsettling. I'm in California, and that sounds creepy to me. When I buy ammo I pay either by credit or cash. They don't even ask for my ID when I pay by credit card.

Heck, I just bought my son a bicycle at Dick's, and they wanted me to fill out paperwork for that! I think it's more about market research than anything else.

Oh, I believe it. Welcome to the People's Republic of Taxachusetts! We always have to show an FID or LTC here behind enemy lines to buy ammo. Out of state folks... they can't buy any at all.

Walmart checks and so does Bass Pro... but only Dicks records the information off your gun license. Very irritating but if you want those precious .22 LR rounds, you have to do it.

Been working in Taxachusetts for the past 10 years. Only state in the USA that considers pepper spray a weapon. So every 2 years I have to take a trip up to wonderful Chelsea to renew my permit to carry it on the job.
