But, I have to ask, how many of you carry a 22 revolver for edc.

I often carry my model 34 kit gun 4" loaded with .22 LR Mini-Mag
Hollow Points and don't worry a bit.
You get hit center mass with 2-3 of these and i believe you will
cease moving towards me with bad intentions.

Sometimes I carry one of my snub 34's or 63. Especially when I'm on the tractor/4 wheeler/lawnmower. Killed a doe with my 2" blue 34 after she tried playing chicken with my truck. One shot to the control center........Lights out.

I'll carry my NAA Black Widow with the 22 mag cylinder when I am walking the dog. Some don't think they are accurate but I can hit minute-of-soda-can at 10 yards pretty regular.

I'll admit to having done so.

...of course that was back in the days when it was actually possible to purchase .22LR ammunition!

Never done so but if it was my only gun I would save some money and use that 22 as trade + cash towards something a little more serious

I use to CC a NAA .22 Magnum, but it went back 3 times from normal use and dry fireing. They fixed it each time but I was not going to put my life on the line with something that failed.
Anything else is the same size as a .380 ACP or a "J" frame and a .22 is not what I want in a CC.

Carry a ruger lcr 22 mag with a good defense load. Not a 22lr but it's what we have

Deriter2011,
Now than my knickers are untwisted .............

Since the stats say there is a 15% hit rate in real-life shooting scenarios a point in favor of a .22 revolver versus a similar size center fire revolver is capacity. For example a 43c holds 8 rounds of .22 LR and other similar size center fire revolvers hold 5 rounds.

In olden days I often carried a .22RF because that is all I had. On occasion I still carry my M-34 2" or 63 3" around the place or on a quick trip to town. Of course, my NAA is always in my off pocket when I am on duty.

A friend came within 5 minutes of dying, bleeding out, when shot in the leg with a .22lr That was three weeks ago IIRC.

I had a Taurus PT-22 that I carried a few times, because it was so small. For a really small gun, I now have a Ruger LCP in .380 that is much better for defense. The thing is, if I was out walking in the country, the PT-22 would've been a lot better for impromptu plinking...it was really fun to shoot.

.22 isn't the best, but I understand it's done the trick many times.

I've been known to carry a 3" Hi-Standard Sentinel loaded with 9 CCI Stingers. Felt comfortably well-armed.

I frequently carry a NAA PUG .22 mag. in my pocket as a BUG. When I'm out mowing or weed trimming around buildings, I carry it loaded with snake shot. I've seen the damage a .22 mag hollow point can create on larger animals, and while it may not be the man stopper of larger calibers, it can be very effective with shot placement.

I use to carry a NAA Black Widow also at one time now I stick with the 380 or 9mm. Plus I quit buying 22LR guns because of the ammo crisis. I own 7 22 rifles for anything I want to be able to do with them but I quite buying them because of the ammo shortage. I can get 380 and 9mm any time.
