Reminds me; I was fishing with my son's Boy Scout troop out in the country. The small lake we were fishing in was mostly dried up and on the side of a road on some private property. I set up my lawn chair and started untangling the kids' lines - when I look down and make out the outline of a pistol. Turns out its an old Ruger SA revolver in the mud - loaded no less. I rinsed some of the crud off and gave it to the property owner - as, technically, it was his. He had no idea how it got there and gave it to the local cop. It was a total goner. We were guessing that somebody threw it into the lake (back when it had water) from the roadside.
You could take yours to a gun show and sell it for $1,000 bucks as an 'antique'. Or try the same thing on one of the auction sites. (just kidding, but doesn't it remind you of some of the junk you see?).
