Curious if anyone has a 686 competitor (170319) and what your thoughts on it are, pros & cons. My intent is to shoot it in icore

Thanks in advance

I have both a 686 and a 629 Competitor. The 686 was converted to 7 shot, cut for moonclips, had an Apex trigger job done, and I put a Delta Point on it. Great gun I like it a lot, and have shot a lot of local matches with it! I have no issues at all.

The 629 is stock other than cut for moonclips. Shot that in a match last weekend.

I want a 686 competitor. Shot a friend's a few years ago and fell in love with it. Just have not been able to pull the trigger on one yet. I have so many others that fill that roll.

So have you given up on the idea of a 929 for ICORE?

Adios,

Pizza Bob
No not really, just looking at options.

I currently have a 627 Pinnacle Precision fitted an additional cylinder for 9mm (and others) that can fill that role, a 625jm for limited 6 and big six, and a M15 & 581 for classic Div.

If I were to get the competition model, I'd get the cylinder cut for 9mm and shoot it in both Classic and limited 6. Am also toying with the idea of a 610…..

I'm in a good position now and as I'm considering another revolver for icore I'm seeking input on guns that interest me.

686 competitor,, makes as much sense as that SP101 match gun ruger came out with.
A competitor not suited for any competition.
Have you shot ICORE ? for one the weighted barrel isnt legal.. You can remove them if you like but you still have a long heavy gun shooting mousefart loads, so gonna transition like a fuel barge.
Rail and optic makes no sense as you would be shooting against 8 shot guns..
Classic ? and speed loaders,, but then why spend the coin on this one.
Limited 6 is basically dead with the introduction of Big 6, which this gun cant shoot in.

I mean nice gun and all but it isnt useful for ICORE.
Pretty sure they make a 44 magnum version of this gun, which would be pretty bad ass if you got it cut for moons in Big 6
