I make holsters full time (Kydex) and I've been working on expanding my product line.

Does anyone have the new 2.0 45 Compact? What style holster would you prefer for it? Outside the waistband belts or paddle holsters? Inside the waistband? Hybrids?

Holster sales always seem to differ between 9/40 and 45 of a particular model. I have found that most 45 cal models, unless in small sub compacts like the XDS 3.3, sell better in outside the waistband holsters. But, I've handled the new 2.0 45 compact and it's characteristics are almost the same as the 2.0 4.0 inch 9/40.

If you have the 2.0 45 compact or are considering it, thoughts? Production costs have gotten to the point where it's no longer feasible to "try" a holster model to see if it will be profitable.

Thanks

I just bought one of those. I've been using a Galco CON472 for my M&P40 for a number of years to the point where it's not so snug anymore and a loaded gun will slide out of it if turned upside down. I tried the new 4" .45 in it and it fit nice. Snug, but not overly so. I know Kydex will be a different situation, but the two models (9/40 vs 45) are awfully close in size. Personally I prefer OWB, it's more comfortable, I can dress around it and I don't get into situations where it matters if it prints. That said, I do have IWB leather holsters.

I have two Shield .45s, personally I do not and probably would not carry any way but IWB. The only decision would be on a hip or AIWB. For me, it's AIWB. YMMV.
