Thoughts on the M&P BG 380

D-Hop,
I purchased my M&P BG .380 last month. It is the newer model and I shot it for the first time today. My thoughts. Reasonable accuracy at 50 feet "within a silhouette", very accurate within 21 feet easily "3 inch group" if not better, and I could see the laser at 12 feet in full sun. I would suggest some type of Hogue or ??? grip as the handle is skinny and after about 50 rounds, you start feeling a little discomfort between your thumb and forefinger. I would also recommend a trigger "polish" not the mod that shortens the hammer throw slightly.
What a great little firearm! Out of the first 50 rounds of TulAmmo I had two fail to ejects. I credit this failure to the steel casing of the ammo. No other problems noted. Make sure to take the allen wrench to adjust the laser sight on your first range trip. The metal sights were aimed slightly high at 21 feet. I would recommend this firearm to my parents. Hope this helps.

Edit. This will be my EDC with HTP rounds or the standard ball round. Good luck

I bought my BG brand new. Had it 3 days. I have had numerous light strikes, and just started today with FTF/FTE. Not a happy camper at all. I have been using TulAmmo and Monarch. I cleaned and lubed the gun today, going to load up some federal and maybe as a last chance on it some Hornady (noob gun owner but heard this was the best) and see if it likes that ammo better. If not, its going to S&W.

I hope, really hope it gets resolved, I like the size and the fact it has a safety, something my wife mandated for a carry.

Hickok45 on youtube did a great review. Saw it and with other reviews online, bought the gun. What I DIDN'T see was the Part 2 review. He had the light strikes. Light strikes may be fixed with a new string from Galloway, but frankly I'm not willing to do ANYTHING to a brand new gun w/o first giving the factory a try. My only fear, as they will do nothing, put a round or two through it, and send it back and say its fine. They should really know by now the light strikes are a big issue out there, been seeing it a lot now that I'm really digging around.

Hopefully, they can keep this S&W customer.

I have the original model with the Insight laser and it's been 100% reliable. The only thing I did not like about the gun is the heavy, DAO trigger pull, which is why I actually prefer my Kahr CW380. The BG can produce good results on paper with a solid grip and paying attention to yor trigger pull.
