I'm taking advantage of my time off between jobs to clean up the house and set up a better macrophotography studio. Getting rid of stuff will allow me to rearrange my work area in the living room. Eventually, there's going to be a macro photography table made of iron pipe and thick plywood.

I've resolved to, among other things, throw out most of the old magazines except for a few long out of print publications such as "Air Classics" and "Air Combat".

While going through the bankers boxes of junk, I came across all kinds of things, including a VERY rudimentary gameport joystick and a parallel printer sharing switch box.

Anybody else come across weird stuff you forgot you had while cleaning up.

All the time favorite place to hide goodies is under the bed plus I've got 2 sheds 12 X 20 ft full of forgotten treasures. ...but at my age the kids will discover all these forgotten treasures before I have time or the energy to clean them out

Two rules of thump apply:
1. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
2. You can keep something for decades and once you get rid of it the next week you will need the very same thing. Caveat: That may not apply to the "VERY rudimentary gameport joystick and a parallel printer sharing switch box".
In answer to your question about finding weird stuff. The answer is yes.

Not sure if this cuts the grade but here it is anyway , in 1983 I was at a local country auction in northern NYS , It was very close to the MA /CT line. Well the auction went on and on and after most of the regulars had long departed 4 Banker Boxes came up . The bid opened at $20 and slipped to ten ( for all four boxes full of paper ) I bid $10 qnd actually won.
Seems they had come from an Lawyers estate - 2 of the boxes were just full of legal papers The other 2 were full of Old stock certificates ( mostly from AZ / NA /UT mining stocks before their statehood------ ( this was well before ebay ) anyway sold then over the years They paid for my sons college

While helping My Parents clean Their Attick I found a Large peice of petrified wood about the size of a dinner plate and about three inches thick.
My Grandfather brought it back from the petrified forest before it was illegal.I wish I knew what happened to it.
