Time for a 1911

Just like Smith is the best as far as quality and resale of wheelguns Colt is the only 1911 that you can buy at a fair price and sell at the same price if you decide it is not for you.

This one seems to be gaining in popularity!!!!

I sometimes regret I bought my Series 70 and didn't hold out for a pre Series 70 Govt. Model from the 1930s-early 1960s era. Maybe someday I'll get a few. Like old S&Ws, they are class weapons. The Series 70 was the last major production Mod O that had the deeply polished blue finish as standard, although it is not the same finish as the pre war Govt. Models had. Since then only custom shop and commemorative Colts come with that good a finish. Brent, who runs the Colt Custom Shop recently informed us that Colt calls the Series 70 finish National Match Blue, which tickled me.

As far as 1911 and variants go, I only buy Colts.

Growing up, Colt was the only game in town with the exception of those made by others under war contracts, so Colts have the inside track for me with five in the stable, ranging from a 1911 to a 1991. Love the Colts.
