I agree.... the current prices could look like a bargain a year from now but if you have extra of one caliber, try trading it for one you're short on. Find an agreeable trade ratio and everybody's happy.

The people who stocked up were derided as "preppers", "paranoid", etc.

I have no idea how anybody in Kalifornistan who is the least bit locked in could possibly be caught flat footed by THIS panic.

The critters have been tightening restrictions on ammo for years, a bit at a time. We had well over a year lead time on the latest, a ban on ammo shipped to your door. My store bought ammo buying (mostly rimfire and shotgun) was done prior to July 2019.

My credit card is still smokin'...

You don't need to go to the range for target practice and deplete your existing supply. Save it for potential point and shoot real use and under no circumstances sell what you have for a profit. That warning about how all the government has to do is control ammunition production has come true. Lots of pretty guns stored in the safe because you can't shoot them.
