Tinian and Peleliu Airfields Reactivated

Clark is now a civilian airport, but that could change in a hurry. Subic is still military. At least we don't have to build an entire island(s), like some have.

This follows the expansion of facilities on Guam along with getting new sites in the Philippines. And U.S. forces have had joint training with Australian forces. Japan is also involved in this buildup.

Putting it simply, the U.S. is committed to putting some hurt on China if the time comes.

Si vis pacem para bellum...

I think if we have to use Tinian and Peleiau we are SOL. I mean we only have 2 B29's flying, "Doc" and "Fifi"

Why would the US get into a fight with China? China owns, us.

The US IS NOT going to fight a near peer enemy, especially when the near peer can/will cause casualties the American public will not tolerate. That's China and Russia. Besides, who is going to fight, GenZ?! Yeah, good luck with that!

Just remember, in Afghanistan, it took 20 years, 4 Pres. Admins., $3-4 Trillion dollars and tens of thousands of lives for the US to replace the Taliban with... the Taliban! Am I wrong?

Who benefited from all that? US .gov contractors.

Endless, perpetual, wars it's what the US does! War, our economy depends on it!

Appeasement kills.

The only obstacles keeping China from just taking the West Philippine Sea in spite of the International Tribunal of the Sea ruling Filipinos own it are the US Navy, Philippines Navy, and the Austrailian Navy. Russia would take Ukraine but for NATO, the EU, and us, with EU providing 2x more in financial resources than us.

The reason for so many military contractors is we have volunteer armed forces - we could always just draft young people because it's much cheaper, I guess. In the civilian realm we have roughly the same number of Federal employees we had in the Reagan Era - we have 110 million more citizens than in the 80s.

It's much easier to criticize than to do anything.

Who said anything about appeasement? I'm just calling it like I see it.

You actually think China cares about the International Tribunal of the Sea? Really?! China is going to do what it wants. It's not afraid of the current admin and it doesn't take those in charge seriously. and why would they? Look at the "leadership"!

Russia would take Ukraine but for NATO, the EU, and us, with EU providing 2x more in financial resources than us.

Let's be real. Russia is going to grind Ukraine down. NATO and the US aren't going to do much more. Russia is going to end the war on its terms. This is as Russia builds the 2nd largest army in the world. Then, what?

You think Western Europe has the military or stomach for war with Russia?

This is going to be a multipolar would, and the US is NOT going to be the top dog. BRICS is going to kill the Dollar.

War is a racket. Military contractors LOVE perpetual war as they make money. Then they send some of that money to politicians who then vote for more funding for more weapons to keep the conflicts going. The cycle continues.

Out of all the conflicts the US has been involved in since Korea, who has benefitted the most? Military contractors. Who pays, besides the tax payers? Young men and civilians. Old men make war, young men die.

It's much easier to criticize than to do anything.
I'm not criticizing, I'm telling the truth.

What would you have me do? Tell me.

Endless, perpetual, wars it's what the US does! War, our economy depends on it!

Tell me I'm wrong in ANYTHING I stated.

You are wrong in everything you said, both in my experience and opinion. It's a free country, so no big deal.

My suggestion to younger people is that they travel internationally, and work internationally if possible. It certainly helps to understand world issues with clarity born of experience.

At the end of the day, it is a fool's folly to believe that all other countries' leaders are will leave us alone if we hide behind two oceans.
