I thought I'd start a new thread about this powder so a question for you Titegroup users . I want to load 9mm with 124grain FMJ bullets . I want the loads to be factory equivalent in velocity not competition light loads . Also not +P .
Would Titegroup be good for this ? The guns shooting the loads will be:
Glock 17
Beretta M9
Sig 226

I run 124 gr. JHP bullets with 4 gr. Titegroup, 1.140" COAL- as a "range load".
Velocity is 1140 FPS+- out of a 5" 1911 and accuracy is good (1.25" @ 25 yds. from bench).

I only use Titegroup but not for long. I am down too 2 oz. left and can't find it local or online. Starting to get as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Just got my new 9mm Pro and it needs shooting.

Titeboom is not the best powder for the 9mm.

There are better powders that are slower burning. Yes, people use it in the 9mm but to each their own. If you have other slower powders like HP 38/W 231, Power Pistol, Unique, anything but TG.

Yes, you can use it, just be sure of your powder charge, I just do not like it,;)

Titegroup is my usual 9mm powder. However, if you're averse to +P and want to go faster, get a slower powder. HS6 or Power Pistol will rock your world.

PP & HS6 will get higher fps with lower pressure.............
but you also have to dump a heck of a LOT of powder in the little 9mm case to get there !!

Not my idea of a friendly powder for those with a light wallet.
Several other powders out there that get the job done with LESS powder........with the medium heavy 124gr bullets.

I use Power Pistol for 9mm, 357 Sig, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP. I have a Dillon 650 progressive reloader and I just don't like the load density, or lack of, that I get with TiteGroup. Power Pistol tends to have more muzzle flash, especially with shorter barrels but I find it to be one of the more consistent powders.

TiteGroup for 90 gr XTP 380's in my P238 is perfect.

So far I've gotten my tightest groups with tightgroup /badpun

But I haven't been able to find it in over a year.
700X has been pretty close.
I haven't been able to get a working load with power pistol.

I gave up on trying to get it and paid the LGS their $40 a pound for CFE Pistol. probably is no good as they had a shelf full of it. That is the price I paid for their last pound on Titegroup in January. Now I got to work up new loads. Has anyone used this CFE Pistol I think if is fairly new.

I started with Titegroup for 9mm and tried HS6 and have W231 as well to try. TG gave excellent results all around with 4.0 grains pushing a 124 grain bullet. I tried to work up loads with HS6 and not come close to the same accuracy. Later I found that HS6 needs to be loaded to higher end to get acceptable results. I was not willing to do that. TG does have drawbacks for certain - the range between high and low charges is small and you can double charge it. To be fair, there are lots of powders that you can double charge in a 9mm case so why pick on TG only? It does burn hot but that has caused me no problems in 38 special, 357 magnum, 9 mm, and 40 S&W. I also load W231 for 38 and 45 and2400 for 357 so I am using less TG these days. Fortunately, I have been able to find all of the powder I can ever use at great prices, both rifle and pistol. I have come to the conclusion that everyone reloading should be extremely cautious and careful and concern over double charges and the like will become less concerning.

I originally got CFE pistol when I started running out of W231, after using it for the last year, I actually prefer it. I use it for both major and minor power factor 9mm loads. Winchester AutoComp is an almost identical powder(if not identical). I use either interchangeably.

They had one pound of AutoComp on the shelf and 12 one pound containers of CFE. W231 was on my list but they were out of everything but those first two. I bit the bullet and paid the high price because being out of powder is not cool. This will hold me till I can get a 8 pound jug online someday. I hope I like the CFE if so I will stick with it.

CFE and 231 are not "interchangeable". Check the burning rate chart, 231 is listed as #29, and CFE is #44. That is a pretty significant difference in burning rate. If your at the top with CFE and use the same amount of 231 you just may have a serious problem.

I have fired thousands of rounds of 9mm using 124gr cast or (more lately) coated bullets on top of 3.8gr of TG. Very accurate load in both my M&P and my Beretta. There are those who will proclaim that it is too dangerous. There are those who will tell you that motorcycles are too dangerous, horses are too dangerous, knives, scissors, stairs, etc. Use common safety practices and you will have no problems. TG will not try to trick you into double charging anything. If anyone has a double charge, THEY PUT IT THERE. Lets not blame the pencil for our spelling errors.

My keyboard is causing my spelling errors the keys are just not safe they are to small is there a safer keyboard to use? If I double charge TG on purpose I can see the difference before sitting the bullet on. I have a led light that shines on that station on my press. I have never thrown a double charge and want to be sure I never do. Just use the loading data for W231 it covers my 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP. Maybe not be the best powder for those loads but beats none at all. You just can't get a hot enough primer to go with out powder. It limits the range a lot.

You misread (or I mistyped) what I meant. I was comparing CFE Pistol to Autocomp, not 231 :D I actually don't have any 231 and don't even look for it anymore.
