I already have a 15-22 and love it. Best feeling gun I have shot. Just got a coupon for 15% off at Big 5. Thinking of picking up another one or going with the Sig 522. If I go with the 15-22 I have extra Magpul items and mags. Not sure which one to get.

If you want one then you should buy it.

I have enough .22s, but I'm thinking about one of the .17 CZ bolt actions.

I have no knowledge about the Sig, but if you got another 15-22 there are sooooo many ways you can customize these rifles it could be like having two completely different firearms. Plus you know all of the parts would be interchangeable.

A great addition to your 15-22 would be a MP22... I have both and love both... Funnest guns I own

I'm not a collector, so I wouldn't want duplicates of any gun. And if you want to customize the new one, then why not do it to the old. Me, I'd prefer a different gun to shoot. Although I do tend to choose ones that shoot the same ammo, so I don't have TOO many kinds to stock.

personally i picked up a sig 1911 .22 so i can have 2 different types of cheap fun.

Normally, I am in complete agreement with you, but with the 15-22 I can envision a scenario where two 15-22s would be desirable:

- One set up for serious competition with top-end match trigger and all the other related goodies.

- One set up for just plain ol' plinking and can punching.

The 522 is a great gun I'm putting a swat commando model on layaway for the wife. Mags are cheap just so you know the sig mags are made by black dog so the 22 conversion mags fit and are cheaper than the sig branded. Check nutnfancys review of it.

why not use the match gun for plinking? just requires cleaning it.

if i had 2, it would probably be more long vs. short range.

SBR the one you got. Or get a suppressor for it.

I like the way this sounds. Go get another 15-22!!!

I have about 3 different ways that I would like to set my 15-22 up. SBR is one of them.

I also have 2 5.56 ARs. Arguably the same gun but one is a 16" carbine with a flash hider and the other is a 14.5" middie with a tacked on brake. Both started out relatively the same but are set up different and run and feel completely different.

That's what I would do with a second one. I would leave my scope and bipod on it and get a lightweight tube style handguard for it. Kind of like having a predator AR, but I would call it my rodentar.

Great, now I'm going to start looking at the camo 15-22's. Thanks a lot guys.;)

Thanks for the input guys :) Heading to Big 5 after work to see what they have left.

I have 3; 1st was a Pink Platinum Talo edition for the wife; 2nd was a M&P15-22P; 3rd was a Realtree APG HD. I have now acquired enough mags - OEM black & FDE, 10rnd black OEM (came with the Realtree) and 32rnd ProMags that all work wonderfully - that I load them all, go shoot till empty, then leave.

Mag interchangablity is super. But I have also heard excellent reviews of the 522. I also have a HK MP5-22SD and while it is a blast to shoot, the mags are $39/ea which sucks. Doubt that aids your decision making process but this is what I have learned first-hand.

I'm not sure one can ever have enough rimfire launching platforms... I'm really keen to my snub-nose 9-shot 22LR revolver too.

I vote for another 15-22 because I am doing the same thing. this one will not be a PC model, but just the base model with the threaded barrel. I will set it up for general use plus it will be spare parts for my speed steel shooting PC model and a backup gun just in case.

I'm also in the mood for another. After shooting a friend's, alot, I'm going to get a Sig 522. And there are a few important options out now for the Sig's....Nothing much wrong with the Smith, but The metal upper and folding stock, ambi safties and mag release etc., make the Sig all worthwhile to me.....I'll keep the Smith around for the Gransons to play with,,,,,,,,,,,best regards Plum

I have a Colt C 4 carbine, HK MP5 SD, GSG AK 22, And the 15 22 MOE..........Just for fun variety go for the SIG 522.
