My wife & I have 5 kids. The youngest is 17, junior in high school, and still lives at home. The others are all grown up and taking the world by storm.

I have tried to get her interested in shooting, but she never wanted to go. Well, I guess her new boyfriend likes to hunt, and now she has an interest in learning to shoot. Yesterday I asked if she wanted to go shooting with me today, she surprised me with a yes. So I grabbed a few boxes of 22lr and my Ruger 10-22, and my 43C for her to practice with.

Loaded the 43C with snap caps and had our first lesson. Once she got good with safe gun handling and trigger pull, I loaded the gun for her. Here's her first target at 7 yards.

After burning thru her first box of 50, the 10-22 came out. She did okay, but thought the revolver was more fun & asked if she could just keep shooting it instead. I told her that was fine with me!

Today was a good day. :)

Nice. Putting all 7 rounds on target isn't bad for a first time shooter.

I agree, she did great!

The 43C has an 8 round cylinder. But if you look at the top left group of target repair stickers, you'll see her first shot. :)

Way to go 307 niner. Besides introducing a new shooter, You spent some quality time with your daughter.
It don't get any better than that.

This is a great story! We need more people to learn about firearms the right way & less people fearing them. More importantly this will be a skill she will never forget!
