Don't fret over the TP run....
Any of y'all remember the time Johnny Carson made a joke about a TP shortage???

Anyhows, things are startin' to green up around here...
Jest be aware of the posion oak and ivy !!!

.

The mistake I keep seeing here is that y'all go to Walmart or Costco. Timing of the panic buying unfortunately has coincided with our household TP buying schedule. We didn't even think of going to any of those bulk places. I picked up a 24 pack of Mega Charmin at Target simply by walking into the place. No fuss, muss or hostages taken.

I noticed an odd thing yesterday afternoon. The Wal-Mart nearest me was out of TP, while the nearest H-E-B supermarket (about a half-mile away from Wal-Mart) had a ton of it. I also noticed lines at the local gas stations this morning. I think we are entering a media-induced mass hysteria phase. Many colleges and schools here in San Antonio are declaring extended spring breaks, despite the fact that there has not been a single reported case of Coronavirus reported here (except for those brought in from the cruise ships in quarantine at Lackland AFB).

What about that woman who had it and went to a mall and the whole mall had to be cleaned?

The media needs to be less sensational, but that's not their nature.

I went to the store today to pick up a few things, I noticed things that are not wraped like no salad bar. There were so many people wareing masks I felt like passing out candy.

For those of you who may have forgot your training!

I still have one of those. It is tucked into the steel pot cover band, just like I carried one when I was on active duty.

Edit to add: Pulled the old steel pot out of storage, and snapped this pic.

My BIL was in Sams today and he said two guys were literally fighting over a container of cherry tomatoes.

I hate it when adults act like middle schoolers.

People went fully insane today. We were busier than we were Christmas Eve or the day before Thanksgiving. Crazy! No toilet paper, no paper towels, precious little water, no clorox or lysol wipes, no hand sanitizer, no alcohol, not much liquid hand soap left, no lysol spray, no bread, no dry beans, canned goods nearly empty, no spam, no vienna sausage, chip aisle virtually empty, children's pain meds mostly gone, vitamin c nearly gone, zinc lozenges gone, no canned tuna left. Every cash register open. People lined up down the aisles at times to check out. No shopping carts at the door - they were all in use.

I live in a small town after labor day we roll up the sidewalks, we do have a good size market, I went shopping on Wed and the paper products isle was over filled, I forgot a few things and I went back on Thur and it was the same thing, today my wife wanted some icecream, I went back and the store was packed, I usually see many people that I know, today I didnt meet anyone I knew, I think people from other parts of the state came here and cleaned out our store, even the pasta isle was almost empty, good thing they wernt buying icecream.

My wife has always waited for a sale and been stocking up for years. So we are all set with (13) 40 packs of moon tape. She was at Wegmans Thursday morning when they wheeled out a pallet of TP. She noticed they were single ply and rightfully kept on walking. As she passed, she uttered to the masses scooping up the packages that she wondered what the expiration date was on them. She said everyone of the buzzards immediately looked for an expiration date. No need to wonder why I married her!.

Last evening I cruised by the local wally world...

You woulda thought the end was at hand !!!

Folks with carts over flowing with everything except TP.

I found what I came for (Clifty Farm Country Ham) in and out under 9 minutes.

Stopped at the DG next. Their shelves were stocked up purty good.

When I was living in the hills......TP was, well ya know, a non-essential.

I always kept a couple of sheep shearin squares in my saddle bags (in zip-lock plastic bags).

Kinda like cloth diapers, wash 'em out and re-use. lol.

Don't be a City Slicker ;) :D

My wife went out today to get crackers, pistachios and fabric softener. She got to Sam's early and it was a zoo, so she went up to the Wally Mart and scored the crackers and softener and had a look around. Yep, there were empty shelves where the TP, paper towels and wipes used to be. The Clorox area was cleaned out, too. We are well stocked so no big deal to us.

She went back to Sam's to find the madness had ended, largely because there was now no TP, paper towels, wipes or water. People were buying normal amounts of normal stuff and commenting how quiet the place had suddenly become. She did say the frozen food area had taken a beating, but there was still enough there for her to grab some Marie Calender's Pot Pies that I use as lunches at work.

Last night, the local news announced that one of the costcos or sams, I don't remember which, had received a new shipment of TP. They said they'd be available at opening, 200 master packs!

Oh, to have witnessed the mayhem!!

The correct amount of TP is proportional to what and how much you eat.
Older Air America buddy, retired pilot and yachtsmen decided to eat right, party less and live forever.
He conducted an empirical study of food/in vs waste/out.

When he gets back from assisting with the carnage, after the last blow in the Eastern Bahamas, I'll get a copy of his..............
load data.

Two weeks ago we were called to change the locks on a 100,000 square foot warehouse. It was completely full of nothing but toilet paper.

The operations manager called yesterday to have us come back out. Being curious, I asked him if the warehouse was still full. He said two thirds of the TP was gone.

I stopped in the local Shoprite last night. Milk, orange juice, flour cleaned out.

I have been seeing Quilted Northern commercial's this afternoon, are they trying to be funny. [emoji1]
