Okay, I saw the ad at a gunshop for a semi-auto Tokarev Bull pup this morning. The reviews around the web are of course good. I would like to know if one of these would be reliable to keep around the house. Under $300 +. (new)
Any bad experiences with this brand or gun? The money of that amount is a non-factor, but I don't want junk. Thanks in advance!

I broke down and bought one. I should have it this week. I know who will buy this one if I feel like "unloading" it. So, with transfer it'll be just under $350. My son's friend who wanted my Sears model 94 30-30 hasn't got back to him, so for a couple bucks I won't fret it. I kinda like that lever gun anyhow; it's the only rifle close to the few I grew up with. Can't wait to try out this inexpensive little shotgun.

Yeah, I got to admit the BP caught me too because I shoot mostly Black Powder. I've shot plenty of Russian style AK platforms in various calibers including the Ishmash twelve gauge and have to admit that if I was in the market for a semi auto home defense twelve gauge I wouldn't hesitate. I think a twelve gauge pump riot gun is all that is necessary and keep an old '97 handy for home defense. I tend to think that a semi auto twelve gauge is a bit much unless your going into home demolishment work, they are capable of delivering devastating results. I've seen how effective just racking the slide on a twelve gauge shotgun can be.

Excellent shotguns for the money.

The Ukrainians just bought a whole bunch of the Turkish made Escort bullpup shotguns for anti-drone work.

That's a good enough endorsement for me.

My (almost 80y/o!) neighbor bought one about a year ago. I helped him get it set up to shoot (inserted the charging lever) and took him down to my Doc friend's "ranch." Fired about 20 rds of 2 3/4" rounds from AA light target to magnum buckshot, not a bobble from right out of the box. Soft recoil. We didn't fire 3" because you need to change the "ring" which was left back at the house. I like it. Anything over a 10 rd mag is going to be mighty unwieldy. Joe
