Too Many Mags???

They had them at the Cabela's store in Tulalip, WA, the last time I went there. I believe that had both the singles and 3-packs.

HEY TDUB...I know what you can do if your so worried about having too many mags...SELL THEM TO ME!!! I'll buy all of them

I think most of us have more than we really need at this point. I too got wrapped up in the frenzy.

You can never have too many magazines. The rifle is worthless without the magazine to feed ammo. I'm sure a magazine ban will be back on the list next year so I would hold onto whatever you have. I'm tempted to start hoarding a bit so I can be one of the guys selling mags on GunBroker for $100.

I wonder how much of the spark in the economy was as a result of gun and magazine sales. I know I purchased my share of new guns, magazines and ammo.

Technically not true. You can use it as a single shot without a mag.

I have 14 25rd. mags and 4 10rd. mags, but I have a 15-22 and a 15-22P so two people can load the mags before going to the range and don't have to mess around loading at the range. Also because I live in CO. I can't buy any more 25 rounders when some go bad. So far I can still buy 10 round mags.

Cheers

It is possible to have more magazines, etc. than you actually use at one time. However, most folks don't come to that point. Personally I've been in the position of only having a single magazine, S&W magazines were at that time about impossible to find. Very happily I was able to find six 10 rd. Pro-Mags which I very successfully converted to 32 rd. magazines. Then I was able to find and buy some more S&W 25 rd. magazines. That allows me to load up enough ammo to spend range time shooting my rifle, replacing targets and ... shooting my rifle with no time lost loading magazines. I will likely pick up some more 25 rd. S&W magazines sometime in the Spring.

I just got a couple that I ordered so long ago I'd fogotten about them.

15-22 mags

Thanks for the tip about 44mag. I ordered a couple, but they were out mags for the M&P 22lr pistol.
Anybody know of a source for them?
John

Maybe technically true, but not practically. Feeding single rounds is a pain, not to mention the abuse of the extractor by having to slam its hook over the rim of the cartridge.

4x 25rnd and 2x 10rnd (short) mags here.

The short mags are for shooting from the bench, and the 4 long mags are enough to run a UK mini-rifle course of fire without too much reloading in between stages (one in the gun; one on the belt for the required mag change; another on the belt in case of a jam/clear/fumble, and another on the bench ready for the next run!).

However I would probably have added a couple more, if they weren't around the equivalent of $60 a pop in the UK!
