It shot pretty good! The barrel is 6", the ammo was CCI purchased when Obummer was president and it looked like there was a shortage. First six is shown. I was aiming at the zombie's nose. This was at 15 yards.

This is what 50 shots looked like. My Garmin said the average velocity of the 40 grain rounds was over 1000 FPS. There was no recoil noted.

I have learned that I shoot left of the target so I don't adjust the sights if it shoots where I think it should. I let other folks try my guns and they shoot dead center so maybe it is just me.
I broke a clay target at 100 yards after a few KY windage warmups with my 17-4. Rested single action, of course 
I have an 8" 17-4, 3T that I need to get out to the range
That's what I like about adjustable sights. I can adjust them to suit me!

That's why S&W called it the "Target Masterpiece". Those were pretty warm for a .38 Spl.

I've got to clean out the chambers on my Smith rimfire wheel guns. Stuck brass casings irritate the crap out of me.

I have a 17-3 and a 17-4, both with 6" barrels, and they are my top DA choices for teaching new shooters. VERY easy to shoot, no pain, only a reasonable report. I've had a number of them over the years. Here's the "family portrait."
