I know, odd/gross thread. But, it's that time of year, especially down here in Texas. It's just a fact of life, but this AM one of those impossibly giant gross suckers was in my friken bathroom. For some reason snakes/spiders etc, who cares...but those awful tree roaches...do any of you guys want to start throwing grenades and shooting when you see one? Hate em..

I think in Florida they call those Palmetto bugs. I'm ok with tree roaches (we call them BFR'es down here) it's those little bitty german cock-a-roaches that I can't stand. The BFR'es make a very satisfying sound when you stomp them-I just don't like it when they fly at you-then <STRIKE>I</STRIKE> my wife runs around screaming like a little girl.

We raise the really big varmints in my neck of the woods, and send them out to other parts of the country.I hope you enjoy them.

The bathroom cleaner Scrubbing Bubbles kills them very effectively. They don't run more than a few inches. Better than squishing with a bare foot.

Man did you hit a nerve there. I try so hard to never snap at my girl, but if I'm trying to kill one and she is screaming everytime I swing the whatever is in my hand, I want to turn around and say SHUT UP!!!!

I'll have to try that, I like methods that do not require direct sqwashing. I'll tell you what else drops em right on the spot is Gun Scrubber, but it obviously cannot be used indoors much unless you want to ruin your furniture.

Some folks round here call 'em Palmetto bugs, but they are just cockroaches to me. Only time they bother me is when one crawls across my face while I'm asleep. You can spray for 'em all you like, but you ain't gonna get rid of all of 'em'! Hell, they are one of the most ancient species on the planet.

Best description that I heard of one....

"How big was the roach?"

"It was so darn big that it could stand flat footed and bang a turkey!"
