Trijicon RM01 came in this afternoon and this evening I installed it on my M&P 9 CORE. Easy install but....when tightening the screws down they both appeared to hit a stop (bottomed out??) instead of tightening down gradually. Sight seems tight and everything works but concerned. Used plate one and Trijicon supplied screws per instructions. Any thoughts??? Any way to tell if the screws bottomed out?

Hey I just got a RMR for my M&P CORE Ported,
I used the mounting plate 1 and the screws that came with the gun.

I suppose the only way to tell would be to remove the RMR and screw them directly into the gun and measure. If the mount, screws, and optic are all tight, I figure you stand a good chance of not having a problem.

Take the plate off the gun. Put the plate on the RMR off of the gun and see if the screws are to long before you install the plate on the gun.

Don't use the same screws to determine depth, the problem might be that the threads don't go far enough on the shaft. Put the screw in (without plates or sight) and make sure that the hard stop doesn't happen at the same time you can't see any threads. If you still can see threads you're getting full depth of the hole. The look at the other methods already posted. I'm thinking I had to use different screws (than was listed in the instructions) on my Deltapoint. But that was a few years ago and I'm not sure of my memory about that. (bitch getting old :D)

Thanks for the suggestions. Took RMR off and did the suggested checks. All looks good. When put RMR back on same solid stop. No gradual tightening down...just solid stop. Sight appears tight so...make some noise tomorrow and see if it loosens.

All the drama for nothing. Fifty rounds and appears to still be tight. Awesome package...love my 686 and 617 with UltraDots but thinking they are going to see a lot of safe time. TacticalReload says it's a **** shoot on getting a "good" one of these....guess I got lucky. Ten rounds offhand at 15 yards----seven touching and 3 grouped two inches higher. Hopefully get it benched soon and see what it does. Thanks for all the input.
