Well, perhaps perusing the nice ones that have been done in the thread can help you decide if you want original patina or restored glory - it's a personal decision that others debate heatedly:
+1 for Kamerer's sentiments.
It's a highly personal decision. My TL is in the string he posted, and I do not regret having it re-nickeled, but your mileage may vary. And I doubt I could easily recover my costs, but I did it for my own reasons, no concern that it would increase or decrease the value.
