I have never found a Triple Lock Schematic. But the Mod 24 .44 spl Schematic found here at Gunparts:

Smith & Wesson 24 Revolver Parts, Schematics | Gun Parts Corp.

is almost as good with a few revisions that I've listed with correct part names and photos below :

#1 Extractor Rod – TL difference: the Knob is removable for disassembly and part # 4 extractor rod collar (the seat for large extractor spring) is integral with the rod, not a separate part.
# 2 Center Pin - TL difference: part #3 ctr pin spring mounts on the rear end of the ctr pin because it is spring tensioned to the front (that's the reason there is no 'divot' in the recoil shield to cam the ctr pin forward when closing the cyl). Note: instead of integral collar on the ctr pin, the triple lock ctr pin has a tiny 'E' style spring clip and washer.
#3 Center Pin Spring
#4 Extractor rod collar (the seat for large extractor spring) is integral to the ext rod on the TL.
#5 Extractor spring
#6 Gas ring – press fit in front of the cyl.
#7 Cylinder
#8 Extractor alignment pins, press fit
#9 Extractor assembly, often referred to as the extractor 'star' or 'ratchet'.
#31 Yoke (called crane on Colt DA revolvers) – the TL 3rd or middle lock cam plate is mounted in the front of the yoke with a screw.
#66 Locking bolt – TL difference: the TL front & middle locking bolts are one piece including a spring, plunger, and cross pin; the lower leg (middle lock bolt) being much longer to contact the cam plate in the yoke. It's retained by a hole plug (cover) at the front of the shroud and two pins thru the ext. rod shroud instead of just one as shown below.

All the other parts of the TL are the same part names and listed at the link above (although not necessarily interchangeable with the TL due to slight dimensional differences). The post war hammer block safety parts do not exist in the TL and the Micro Click target sight shown is of course different from the TL style pre war sight.

Jim: Thanks for this info. Is it possible for you to do the same comparison on the 3rd mofel 44/Model of 1926/Wolf & Klar? I was trying to match parts using the M21-4 schematic but had trouble.

Randy,

That shouldn't be too difficult, we're basically just talking about the differences between a Pre war and Post war N frame, which is the pre war no safety or later side plate safety, and the post war hammer block safety. The only other difference is the short action of the post war pre models. The pre war and post war Transitional models both have the long action hammers.

steelslayer,

That's amazing, after all these years, finally a TL schematic!

Thanks for sharing!

The following part name corrections/clarifications in the parts legend might be helpful:

619A – Locking bolt cover (hole plug), retained with a cross pin (not shown)
632 - Center pin collar is a washer
637 – Stock pin listed in legend as 637 pin (640 is a duplicated # in schematic)
640 - Yoke stop detent plunger in legend & spring
641 – Cyl stop plunger and spring
663 - Locking bolts front and middle retained with a cross pin (not shown), (which is a housing for #664 a plunger, spring and another cross pin also not shown)
664 – Locking bolt plunger, spring, with the internal cross pin (not shown)
670 – E clip, not a washer

Triple lock parts

I came across a 4" (cut off" triple lock at a recent gun show. It is going to have to make a few steps up before it can even join the "Cripple Collection". It appears to be complete except that the extractor rod has been made from a 2nd model with the large head ground down. There is no collar on the rod to hold against the extractor spring which is also missing. Now my question: There appears to be a newly machined extractor rod, knurled threaded knob and center pin shown in a photo posted by Delta 419. Can anyone tell me if these are available or who might machine such a set. I believe the revolver will at least be fully functional with these parts. My goal is to get it to operating status so I can shoot the famous "Triple Lock" and bring it up to "Cripple" status. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
