Used to not be hard; but I am actually having trouble finding a leather pancake no-cant vertical holster for a 3” k frame. Much less a basic open top without a thumb break . I’ll solve my left handed holster problem if I get that far.
Even the 3-slot type don’t look like they would line up with a 1.3/4” belt, at least in pics. Been to Galco, Desantis, even Tagua etc online. I don’t carry up front but do carry just forward of the hip & vertical draw is easier & faster (safely!) for me; but my old revolver holster is just too worn out and collapsing at the opening. Maybe go custom, but I really just need a good quality double sewn holster for carry.

Becket: Look at Lobo Gun Leather's web site for the Enhanced Pancake. I must own three or 4. You may specify vertical or so-called FBI cant, color, open top, plain, frame size, etc. All at a good price.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. OP requested pancake not paddle.
I use this for my 3" 686+. Perfect fit, adjustable cant, excellent retention and no thumb break.

I agree with you on the 'no cant' angle (no pun intended). I have had mine made for several guns, including a 686+ and a Model 629, as well as the S&W M&P Shield 9mm 2.0. Look up DACA holsters or MASC Holsters. They do them to your liking.

Like you I'm a lefty w/ a 3" K-frame, here w/ a Kramer Horsehide Vertical Scabbard:

I went w/ the forward tilt on mine:

Here's what it would look like w/o the tilt, pure vertical (I've placed the belt a hair below the front of the cylinder):

I've got shoulder problems, and while drawing the gun is EZ w/ the tilt, it would be awkward (for me anyway) to pull the gun w/o it.

Good Luck.

Excellent info!

Thanks all for the great suggestions! I am going to look them all up; and get two holsters. One for now I can use until the custom is made. As I have decided the current k-frame likely will not be my last 3” revolver! Thanks to you all, I can have my cake and eat it too. After doing the ‘bucket of holsters” we all seem to have somewhere, this info will give me two that I can actually use for quite some time that won’t end up just getting retired; because they are close or cheaper; but not what I REALLY need.

Jerry in SC - You are correct. Ken Null's holsters are not cheap, but they
are well worth the price, and he is fast. Last holster I ordered showed up
in my mailbox in 12 days. The one before that showed up in 8 days. I
don't know how he does it when most of the other custom makers are
12 weeks (more or less) out. Here, on the left is the VAM that only took
12 days. On the right is the RSS (Revolver Super Speed) that took 8 days.
He also makes his holsters out of horsehide which is not cheap.

Becket - When you look at pancake holsters be sure the way the slots
line up with your belt keeps the revolver cylinder at belt level. On the
left is a holster made by Roy Baker the pancake maker. Notice how the
cylinder is above the belt level. With the weight above belt level the gun
has a tendency to tip out. Notice the one on the right by KD is right at
belt level and it does not tip out. Both are shown with my Colt's Agent.
SUGGESTION: Go to Ken Null's web page and look at his GSS
model pancake. He will make it any way you want it.

I went with a Milt Sparks PMK for my Model 65 3". Well worth the long wait.
I had a Kramer Vertical Scabbard in horsehide that I loved when I was carrying my Springfield Professional. Great holster but it squeaked a lot until I powdered it.
