I am wanting a set of tritium sights for my M&P 40 Shield. How much are they, how easy are they to install, and whats the fastest way to get them?

I was actually just looking at those sights for my new M&P. Amazon has them for $63.59 just don't buy them all!! Also have you looked at Meprolight? I'm trying to decide between the two companies.

I have never heard of them.

Meprolight is a very big company. They are a sub company of kimber. I have a set on one of my kimbers and had a pair on an xdm I sold.

I have TruGlo TFO's on my 9c. I bought them through Amazon for just over $90.00 after shipping.
They are nice in almost all lighting conditions.

They are a cinch to install, but I have read a lot of posts here that say the Shield sights can be hard to remove. That will be up to you.

I have never removed a sight before. I just do not want to put any blemishes in the gun at all.

I put a set of XS big dots on my shield. Front sight was a bugger to remove. Had to beat the **** out of it with a steel punch. Brass punch just mushroomed. Rear sight was not as hard but you do have to make sure you do not let the spring and cap fly out, Install was a snap

I bought mine off of Amazon and received them about a week later. Then I took them to a local gun shop and they installed them quickly for $20. I had to adjust the rear sight to be on target but that was simple.

The sights are not difficult to change out, but they're not just drop in either. Further, if you're not careful while installing the new sights, you can break the tritium vial and destroy your new sight.

A sight pusher is highly recommended. However, the cost can be prohibitive if you're only doing one set of sights.

The Tru-Glo TFO sights are an amazing improvement. It would suck to damage them on install.

love the TFOs on my Shield. Pretty easy to install for my first time messing with sights. ordered them on Amazon for $91.89. Sight pusher from Fisher Solutions for $79. rear just slightly big for the Shield since it is meant for a regular M&P.
