Trump has ordered a ban on bump stocks

Old Tex, thats called probable cause and if LEO has probable cause then they are good to go. They observed it.

My problem is when you suspend due process and that is precisely what the President suggested. I believe he has backtracked on that now (at least I certainly hope so). I don't think (and I could well be wrong) Cruz had a record. What he had was a number of incidents where a record could have been created had existing laws been enforced. That is the real problem as I see it.

I handle a lot of criminal defense work in my law practice. There is a huge difference between the President's off the cuff remarks and the reality of what should be constitutionally permissible.
Bingo. You’re a lawyer. He isn’t. He says what would make sense regarding maniacs with weapons.
When will people realize that his “off the cuff”remarks do not constitute law? If any POTUS has demonstrated that the executive branch is not a dictatorial position, it’s the present one.

That may be true, but his decision to say stupid things results in sound bites that are not helpful. I don't trust that he is that smart and his prior conduct of saying uninformed things speaks for itself.

The reality is that telling republican lawmakers in an open meeting that they are "afraid of the NRA" and that he is not, is a counterproductive action. It would seem all indications are that he is willing to allow additional restrictions on firearms, including through the use of executive power. How can we let that happen?

After the years of complaining about Obama, I am shocked that the 2nd amendment crowd is not raging mad right now.

Based on the feedback from other forums and news sources, we are just too stupid to see the brilliance that is Trump.

All we can do is what we always do. Wait and see and respond accordingly.

It’s no loss you don’t need a bump fire stock to bump fire a semi auto. I think he through the anti gunners a bone. This means nothing.

It’s not the gun. It’s whats going on before the shooter buys it. The problem is everyone is under the radar till they do a crime. They buy a gun then go on a shooting spree. How do we stop this from happening?

Change our system of jurisprudence??
(Everybody's guilty until proven innocent. Kind of like "shoot first, ask questions later....")

First off, DC vs Heller and Chicago vs McDonald proved the right to bear arms applies to individuals and they don’t need to serve in a militia. Second, US vs Miller proved the 2nd amendment protects firearms that are used similarly to the military and designed for self defense.

In a nutshell, individuals have the right to buy AR-15s with 30 round magazines. Any law that restricts this should be challenged then abolished.

i.e.: fla shooting.
I don't think arming teachers is the answer, but I do think that if the teacher has his or her concealed carry permit, and wants to carry, they should not be prohibited from carrying.

Personally, I think bump stocks, binary triggers, cranks etc. are not for me. I have no real use for such things, but I also feel that this is also a "first step" in the march that the Left has on total gun control.

These people are One World Order thinkers, basically Communist, that have no use for the people having a real means to resist their will. This is, as we all know, what this is all about. These people don't give a **** about "your children", other than what they can get out of them. This is nothing new of course, it's been happening since we crawled out of caves.

Trump, I feel, means well, but I don't feel he is a very deep thinker. He is "tactical", not "strategic", but the anti-gun Left is very strategic. They have time on their side, and the more technology brings people of this planet closer and closer, they have numbers too.

I feel we are on a one way train to disaster eventually, society that is, and when we finally get to the station, it's gonna get ugly. If society breaks down and chaos ends up being the rule of the day, even the "elitist" at the top will be out of the loop of control, and don't like the idea of this whole scenario happening before they can clamp down on the masses and take away the tools needed for independent survival....they want us to need them so we will be easier to control. These are just my thoughts.

Admin Edit-
Here we are again.
We are going to be facing a TOUGH fight- maybe our toughest yet.
Go ahead and discuss it, but remain sensible and considerate for the victims of these tragedies.

Stay OFF the politics and social commentary and other banned topics.
STAY focused on the gun issues, and ONLY the gun issues.

That means we won't be going into:
The budget/economic policies
Gay Rights
Obamacare
Foreign Policy
Immigration
Racial Issues
Etc......

GUN issues only.

The above directive seems to be beyond the capabilities of many of you, so we're done here.
