Try to fix or leave it?

Brother, I hear ya! It would get to me, too, especially if it's just that one dot. At least if there were more, it might no be so bad. Seriously, I feel your pain. My wife has this "habit" of borrowing my tools and then never puts them back where she found them. And then there was the time she got PAINT on some of them. I went out and bought new ones to replace them. (And that was after I gave her an earful....) Whew. Gets me P.O.ed just thinking about it.
Good luck!

Get your OCD tendencies under control and go shoot the gun....
It's no longer perfectly pristine !!! So it's perfectly OK to shoot and enjoy the gun ...and that is what a gun is made for ...Shooting .

Fill the air with Gunsmoke ... It will make you feel good !

It is a used gun. I can look at any used gun and find a minor defect if I want to.
As others have mentioned, you will only make it worse by messing with it.

Did you not see the mark when you bought the gun? Given your OCD, I would be surprised if you purchased it knowing the mark was there. Not being critical here, just curious. I have bought more than a couple guns that I overlooked defects on. It used to eat at me, but I got over it by shooting them and enjoying them.
No problem sir, good question. I bought it from a gentleman from AZ who was selling off his guns b/c he could no longer enjoy them due to health reasons. I don't believe he even noticed it. With the virus and winter I guess we all have a little extra time on our hands and looking for things to occupy the time. This is surely a first-world issue.
