Trying Freedom Munitions

I ordered 500 rounds of 38 special from them last year when i bought my first revolver.
I got around 1-in-15 to 1-in-20 FTF, at first I thought I was getting light primer strikes due to the revolver, but after trying the rounds in a rented 357/38 rossi lever action, and a ruger 77/357 bolt action I had the same results...
Maybe I just got a bad batch, it seems like most people are happy with their product.

I have used their stuff and it's A-O.K. they and GA are my go to places for online ammo. Like NCait8tor already mentioned shipping to N.C. is slow but hey it's coming from the other side of the country. I just wish they would hurry up and start making 357 Sig so I could give it a try.

My order arrived UPS last night! Packed very well. They had two boxes taped together! 1 for the 500 rounds 115gr FMJ and 1 for the 500 rounds on 124 gr HP.. They fill the empty space in the bow but the could have put the full 1000 rounds in 1 box :O guess they wanted them separate :) What sucked was taking toe box from the UPS guy in a white shirt :O Man the box was filthy! My white T shirt was covered with dirt/dust as well as my hands and arms :O don't know where it has been but it was a dirty place lol...... It all washed off :) Now to burn some lead :)

Shot the 115 gr FMJ and the 124 HP in the Shield over the weekend,, Worked very good and burned pretty clean :) Ill try it in my SR9 this week I assume all will go well .. To those that talked about FM ammo on the forum I say Thanks for the heads up

Freedom Munition

I had bad luck with FM 9mm 115gr new. My Shield had 2 failures to extract in 75 rounds.

Hmm. Ive only had two FTE with FM. That was with ny G26 which i had not oiled and pr9bably limp wristed. Since then ive shot prob 1 to 2k in rounds and had nothing.

I have purchased and shot their new and remanufactured 9mm and 38 without any problems. Good company to deal with.

So far 100 rounds of 115 gr, FMJ and 100 rounds on 124 gr HP in the Shield.. Not a single issue :) Not to try them in my Ruger SR9E that I have neglected since I got the Shield :O

I received my order for 500 rds. (10-boxes) of: New 9mm. 124gr. TMCRN ball ammunition shortly after the July 4th. FREE shipping offer. It came well packaged and no damage! I have shot 350 rds. in my Shield and MPFS with no issues. It is very good ball ammo. At $.22 a rd., I don't think I could have done better. I usually shoot Speer 124 TMCRN #53651, but I have to order it by the case lot to get free shipping. I am very pleased with FM and recommend it. Especially for ball rds. (target ammo)

Just ran my first 200-round test of Fredom Munition's (all new) 115gr (100 rds) , 124gr (50 rds) , and 115gr Hornady XTP (50 rds) in my Shield...

Results: Zero malfunctions in both the 115 and 124 RN. However, I had one of their 115gr Hornady XTP JHP fail to fire. I tried to refire twice on the cartridge--no go. Waited the requisite 10 seconds, reloaded in the mag, racked the slide and it fired on the re-attempt. In light of that...I'll stick with Hornady's Critical Defense for my EDC loads--It's gotta go bang EVERY TIME! ;)

FM is a very clean shooting ammo; when cleaning after the range, it look liked it shot around 25-50...not 200. So far, really good target ammo.

I bought 250 rounds of .38 from them and their primers in them are HARD I have issues where I have to hit some twice with factory guns and no trigger jobs. I complained, and they answered one email asking for lot numbers and such, and never bothered responding again. Was my last order from them. I'm reloading my own now.

I still have 200 rounds I won't shoot for now from that batch.

Send them to me I'll shoot em!

My father and I have been shooting their re-loads for about a solid year and have never had any issues. I'd say we're close to a combined 8,000+ rounds. It's cleaner then most, and seems to be very reliable. I cant honestly remember if I've ever had a ftf or fte from them.

I even had a nice series of emails from them about a possible bad batch of 5.56 I had ordered, where they offered to replace anything I hadn't shot..but I had never had any issues and was all out of them.

I'm keeping them to remind me not to order any more. At some point I'll take the time to double hit them all and use the brass to reload with something that won't take a hammer and anvil to fire off.

Freedom munitions is my go to place for buying ammo in bulk. I noticed that 115 gr. dots the paper more than 124 & 147 gr. The heavier bullets gives the most consistant accuracy in my Shield 9. IMHO you cant go wrong with FM's 124 gr. FMJ's & they also offer the same load with the Hornady XTP bullet as well...

Bought 250 new 124 gr HP from Freedom and waiting for them to be delivered. I also bought 150 remanuf from GOODTOGO Ammo that were so bad looking I would not even shoot them in my new SD9VE. I e mailed them and told them the brass was very sharp around where the bullet was crimped in the brass, the primers were NOT installed uniform in the pressing into the casing and the weight had a lot of variance to them. I got a phone call from the owner calling me a liar and his ammo was the best reloaded to be found . He has contracts for 100,000 and more from LEO and I did not know good ammo from bad. I politely told him I had not reason to lie, did not want a refund, did not want free ammo, and did not want to ever see even a damn commercial for GTG ammo the rest of my life. I e mailed the company to tell them maybe my lot of ammo was defective and maybe he should look into that possibility. He hung up!!!

I shoot their 115-gr and 124-gr FMJ reman pretty regularly thru my 9mms. I guess I've had close to 10k of the FM 9mm and haven't had trouble with any of it. A few years back I picked up a few boxes of their FMJ .45 and there were a few rounds where the bullets had recessed back into the case but aside from that it was fine.

What he said! I am in complete agreement. They work for me!
