I picked up a Model 1905 32-20 today, and would like to know what year it might have been shipped. SN# 1196xx. It has a 5 inch barrel and is nickel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can't tell you exactly but for sure the mid-1920s. If it has the "Made in USA" stamp on the right side of the frame, it will be after mid-1922 and likely no later than 1926-27. Original grips have no S&W medallions.
Yes it has Made in USA on the right side, and has diamond center checkered grips with no medallion. The grips do have the serial number written in pencil on one of the panels. Thank you for your help.
