I traded into a model 10-8 that is chambered for and marked 357 magnum. This is a nickel 3" RB that was shipped in out of S&W in 1982 with a lot of 10 nickel 3" HB RB Model 10-8s all listed as 38spc. I am not remotely an expert but have had a couple of locals look at it and they claim based on the crisp lines and stampings the revolver has not been re-neckeled. I spoke with Mr. Jinks at Smith and he said it was possible that it was a mis-marked 13 but there was really no way to prove that.
My question is, considering there seems to be no official way to verify this as a factory 357mag, does this revolver have any value above a standard 10-8 chambered in 38spc?
