Has anyone tried Tulammo in their 40? Made in Russia. $12.97 a box @ Walmart.

There is a saying "Shoot Commie ammo in Commie guns, shoot American Ammo in American guns." Not always the case, but..
Im not sure what primers they use on them, but if its anything like the rifle ammo, it will be hard on a fire pin.
I also don't know if I would like that polymer coating going in the breach.
Maybe perfectly ok.. Only one way to find out, and it aint gonna be me.

Never had any issues with it.
during "the great obama ammo shortage" a few years ago, i used all kinds of questionable ammo, we all did
. if i had a malfunction, it bothered me because i didn't know if it was the ammo or the pistol.
like ipittythefoo, you may not have any issues at all.
now i just use two brands of factory ammo for practice (american eagle and WWB), and one for carry (speer gold dot). i plan ahead, order online, stock up and keep plenty on hand.
if i have an issue, it's probably the pistol.
just my two cents.

Online reviews seem to agree that it functions ok but is very dirty and leaves significant copper fouling. Polymer or laquer, your ammo is coated with something. Depends I'm sure on manufacturing tolerances. For now I've decided against using it. I may buy some for my brother-in-law. He'll shoot anything. Then if it screws up his Glock, no harm done (to my M&P!)
ive seen plenty of ppl using the stuff for their handguns with success. me on the other hand tried a few boxes of their 223 in my ar with alot of stuck cases in the chamber with that polymer coating heating up in the chamber. had to borrow a cleaning rod to punch em out and they seem really underpowered compared to the domestic stuff. ill try some 9mm in my xd and see how it goes.

I've shot so much of the stuff in the last 10 years out of my handguns, I've probably paid to remodel a wing in The Kremlin.

ive never used the .40, but ive shot lots of it in 9, 45, and 5.56. every gun ate it up. also, just to see what happened, i blowtorched a bunch of empty shells, then wiped a clean rag on them to see if anything wiped off. like how so many people said it would get in my chamber, nothing wiped off..
and the reason some people get stuck shells is that their gun is probably dirty. a big factory of shells getting stuck with steel is that the steel doesnt expand as much as brass, so it doesnt seal as well. then dirt, grime and gasses get into the chamber. eventually it can become sticky enough to hold a shell in, normally if you switch from steel to brass without cleaning. ive never personally experienced it tho. just keep your gun clean and youll be all set.
I have had great success with it, probably 1,500 rounds total and no issues. I do have my apprehensions with my AR but the 100 or so have been fine. I mainly shoot the LCP, LC9, SR9, and SR9C from Ruger and it works fine.
Sounds expensive to me... Is that for 100???

The primary issue I have with the Russian ammunition is the steel jacket over the lead core. This jacket is covered by a very thin coating of what looks like copper but it is not thick enough to prevent steel on steel contact when the bullet is fired.

Funny you asked, I went to Walmart today and purchased a 50 round box of the TulAmmo ($14.95) for my Springfield XDM .40 only because they were out of other brand name ammo. I ran the entire box through the weapon with no problems to report. I'm certainly no expert on the subject but thought I would share.

Bi-metal casing, destroys the rifling in your barrel with prolonged use. Very dirty as well.

I have fired the Tul in 380, 9mm, 40 SW, and 45. Not a single problem. I just put 50 rounds of 40 SW through my new Shield 40 yesterday - no problem.
