I have 2 525rd boxes of the Blazer's not sure if they got hot during shipping or what happened but they are nasty. Its like wax melted all over the brass. Would it hurt to put them in a tumbler for a while to clean them up. Never put a rimfire in tumbler, whats your thoughts.

Sounds like lube got all over them. I'd bring them back to the store if you just recently got them. Or try contacting the manufacturer directly.
Thanks for the info Brian. I know people that will run their ammo for a little while to shine it back up. I'll have to warn them about the powder breakdown issue. I wasn't sure about a rimfire.
It's a couple boxes I got from Palmetto. It shoots fine, it's just real dirty. I got another box yesterday and opened it expecting the same thing and was pleasantly suprised that it was good clean brass.
I'll try giving palmetto ad CCI a call but I doubt anything can be done.

As long as the ammunition fires properly, how it looks shouldn't matter. You should see XM855 fresh from the box.

.22 ammo is supposed to have lube on it. If you get .22 ammo with none I would not use it except in an emergency. The purpose of the lube is to aid in cycling and also to keep the barrel lubed. While the lube is supposed to be on the bullets only it makes no difference if it gets on the cases also. When it gets hot the lube flows pretty freely. However when it is cold it often gets solid and sometimes causes malfunctions. Best way to use it in the cold is keep the ammo warm.
Thanks guys I just have never seen any bullets like these. It's like you took hot wax and poured all over the bulk box. They are tacky to the touch; I shot the first box yesterday with no issues. All I can figure is the ups truck must have gotten real hot. I just didnt want it to casue problems by gumming something up. I just cleaned it real good after i got through shooting.

I don't see anything wrong with them.
I do prefer copper washed or copper plated if the velocity is over 1,150 fps, though, instead of bare lead.
