It's going to take a long time to have the pendulum swing back. We lost the mystique of police work back in the late 60's. That morphed into Transactional Analysis. That morphed into the paradigm of community policing, community oriented policing which morphed further into her in NYC collaborative policing and then with a liberal mayor, progressive policing. Touchy-feely policing is the thin thread which won't hold the thin blue line. Way back portions of this alleged policing science involved corporate policing styles as well. Alleged college professors are still debating all of this. Try to explain it to a street person who you wish to convince not to act against society because it just ain't nice.
