Two Deputy Sheriffs were shot and killed in my county yesterday...

It's a war out there and it's becoming more and more difficult for the guard dog to determine the difference between the flock and the wolf.

Prayers to the families and friends of those two officers, and to all families whose loved ones go into harms way for the benefit of others.

Liberal city administrators want Cops to be touchy feely good social workers. It gets Officers killed but the administrators don't see that it's their fault. I retired after 35 years. I watched the job go from trying to prevent crime to responding to crime. I saw a 'pro-Cop' calendar a few years back, each month they'd point out a Cop and call them a 'Hero' because they never pulled their gun. Of the twelve profiled, not one worked a street job.

Got this news when it happened-- this is happening way too often these days- :(
Prayers to the familes-- I wont get on a soapbox here, not the place for it, but given the laws in MD, and those running for office there & spouting their BS how long will the people there and many other places allow these do nothing legislators to be elected time and time again.
This goes beyond sad--
GOD BLESS

I live in MD too and this has been weighing heavily on me too. I keep wondering what they could have done differently since the place was jammed with people.

Oh my goodness. I am getting tired of this stuff, but if I am honest it is no different really from many years ago.People are a little callous when policemen die on the job. I just wish that the police had more support from the average joes out there. I know they do from you guys, but the way the world works and spins the news, some think this is no big deal. It is a big deal. These were first class, top shelf good guys, had been for many years and it is a dirty shame.
RIP, my brothers and God help your friends, family and co-workers.

Here in my area, being callous to law enforcement isn't an issue. I figure at least 90 or more percent of people care about our guys, the ones that don't either are always in trouble, or their kids are. A recent case in point: About 3 weeks ago, four or five Hispanic teens stole a new truck, went on a rampage and damaged several cars and such. The chase went from Flour Bluff, through Corpus to Calallen and back to Corpus. That's about 50 or so miles. Anyway, teens got scared when they finally realized that the police chasing them really meant business. They headed to their neighborhood, ran into their mammas arms to try to escape justice ( which didn't work like they planned) and the mothers all bad-mouthed the police though their kids were guilty. As far as I can remember? that's the only time that very negative stuff about police, made the news--and it was nothing to do with them doing their jobs.

Little of the ferguson/baltimore attitude around here thankfully.

Thinking like that is going to get us ALL killed by the bad guys: civilians and police alike. It's too late for "sensitivity" for that person if an LEO has to a respond to a disturbance caused by that person.
