Well my 17-22 year search (locally/half the state) for a very nice, but shooter grade, 2" Model 15 , ended this morning. As I've mentioned before on 2" Model 15 threads I've wanted one for years but not sure why as my EDC revolver since the 1980s has been a 3" 65 or 66.

Well a small rural gun shop north of the Burg had a 90-95% (small nick on the bottom of the trigger guard ;probably bumped against the sock drawer) very tight, almost no turn line and recoil shield not showing much if any wear. #96Kxxxx still pinned

Got it home and slapped on a extra set of Spegel Boot Grips ( also have a set of Grashorn Stag grips w/ Pachmayr T-grip I'm going to try) and dug out a Don Hume Jit slide holster ( barrel fully covered) from the "Big Box-O-Grips" and I'm good to go!

Sorry no pic's ....... price was non-negotiable at $529

I'm :)

Well, count me as jealous BAM-BAM.

I've longed to add a 2-inch Model 15 to the menagerie here. Love the Model 15 anyway and think the 2-inch is one of the most "bi-nesslike lookin' " handguns ever made. I
primarily want one for its smart appearance.

Sure hoping to see photos of yours.

Congrats....

Sounds like quite a score.

Would love to see a pic with the Spegel grips installed.

Always thought a RB 2" M15 would be a fantastic carry revolver..... No joy from the factory, if..... if I ever found one that was finish challenged, I'd have it RB'd and do something about the finish, then have Craig put together a set of his Boot grips..... that would be worthy of carrying....

Heck of a deal

Congrats on that deal!
I say you got one heck of a deal on that 15. I would like one of those myself, but they are pretty scarce it seems.

There was a 15-3 snub, at the Springfield Mo show a couple weeks ago. $750.00 was the asking price on it.
Not anything special, but not rough, just average condition.
There was no waiting line to buy it, anyone could have been the new owner.

I am still kicking my self, for not buying a snub nosed 66-4 a couple years ago, at an out door swap meet. Guy wanted $650, and I got indignant and walked away because he would not take any less. My loss, as it was gone the next time I went by. Some one else was not so proud, and a bit smarter than I was.
Live and learn..

Hope you didn't hurt yourself reaching for your wallet.

Sold my 2" Model 15

A while back.

A reblue with some pitting but still pretty. I used to take it out and admire it but I rarely took it to the range. I reached the point where I made the decision to sell off firearms I didn't shoot. Got rid of my Garand and a bunch of others. I mean a bunch.

It was a looker and I remember it did shoot well, almost as well as my 4" Model 15 (which I also sold off in my gun purge).

I'm invited to our club's PPC match tomorrow and if I go I'll shoot a 3" Model 13!

I keep saying I need to purge, and I do. I just cannot bring myself to do it. At least I stopped buying:D

I've had the same discussion with myself...... but then I realize.... I'm talking about/ looking for the 2 1/2" 19

Like others here, I lusted after a 2" Model 15 for many years. Finally hit on this one at a gun show about 3 years ago. A 1972 15-3. Gave $475 for it and didn't pause a bit. :D
