I got back to my house up north, (Anacortes, WA) Monday after being gone a couple of weeks. I had a Model 66-1 on hold at my LGS and went to pick it up. In the case was a Model 36 round butt, "flat latch", that needed a home. The Model 36, #2438XX, dates between 1957-1962. Can anyone narrow it down a bit? All numbers match, stocks too. The finish is kind of rough and it's not the queen of the ball but it's a good addition to the family (this is "J" frame number ten, I think). The Model 66-1 #36K87XX, dates to 1978'-1979'. I need to find a set of modified Magnas for it. It's not a beauty queen either, especially with the Hogue nylon stocks, but I'm happy with it. Timing is spot on, on both and there's a bit of play on lock up. Used but not abused. Here's a couple of pics.

Those are two great additions to the family. Congratulations. And that's just the 66 I'm looking for, one that used but not abused.

When I was a kid I got in trouble letting things follow me home , and now at 59 I still get in trouble a lot with things following me home , but It's still a whole lot of fun ! Look's like you got a whole lot of fun and then sum !

Great addition to your collection. I like guns with some character; picked up a Model 10 heavy barrel a week ago w/some character. It shoots so great I don't mind some of the pitting under the grip, or the worn finish (blued) on the rest of it.
