Hate thinking about doing that to my dog when it gets cold. They tell me it will help them to possibly live longer. Don't think he will be happy.

Ed, I might need to jump over to the 1911 part of the forum. I Googled the gun and found the S&W archive sight showing the 5" PD standard with rails while the 4.5"er does not. Sounds like a mystery to me!

That 640-1 is a good little "big gun". The 1911 ain't bad either.

What's the going rate on 640's these days? I saw one in a shop yesterday for $400. Factory grips, no box. Is that decent or just average? There's probably a little wiggle room on it.

Well, went back to the shop this morning and brought this one home. $385 + tax.

Pre-lock #CDJ34xx, I'm thinking 1999. I'm pretty happy with it!
