I best remember him in movies like: Merrill's Marauders and Battle of the Bulge--playing both an American Lt, and an Texan-accented-English-speaking German Lt. I never saw his series though but--still I always liked him in what I saw him in.

Well that makes two so who will be number three? Seems actors and stars die in groupings of three. I don't think I have seen an old movie of his in a long time.

Every now and then Bronco Layne will show up on the Westerns Channel. He got his big break when Cheyenne (Clint Walker) held out on his contract and Disney filled with Bronco. At one time they switched between Cheyenne, Bronco and Sugarfoot (the one at the top in the photo). Great stuff.
I remember him primarily from PT-109, Merrill's Marauders and Battle of the Bulge.
Those are all movies I watched on TV around the same time I noticed my grandparents always talking about old movies stars (mostly from before WWII) who'd just died. I saw that as irrefutable proof they were older than dirt.
They were probably in their 50's at the time and it occurs me that I'm now older than dirt by my own definition. Hmmm...

Help: Who is the actor (and from which series) between John Russell and James Garner? I believe the actor on the far end is Will Hutchins/Sugarfoot? This is a classic photo.
Does anyone remember the 1978 (IIRC) TV special celebrating those 50s/60s Westerns? Virtually all of the stars appeared and were then recognizable as their former personas.

Peter Brown was reputed to be the fastest draw of Hollywood cowboy stars. Don't know if it is true but the wife says so so I believe it.
