They received my funds on May 21st so it would seem I'm pushing the outer edge of that delivery schedule. Are they usually pretty close to this estimated timeframe and do they send a shipment notification to the email address indicated on my order form or do they just ship them?

Thanks for any info,
Scott

Thanks for the responses. Not exactly what I was hoping to "hear" but I suppose I don't have any other options than to wait.

They used to be a great outfit back in the late '80s, but my experiences with them in the last decade have made me unwilling to ever deal with them directly again.

I love the feel and usefulness of the Targets but want to get Service Stocks back on it.

I ordered three brushed aluminum ones to make the per unit cost better.

My last order came just 1 day short of 2 months from the date that my check cleared. Excessive in my opinion. I was also less than impressed with the quality. There were a couple of tiny pinholes in the casting. No comparison to my 2 older ones that have the Tyler logo on the side. The only problem is that older T-grips are about impossible to find for popular models. For $35 or so delivered, they should run a buy one, get one free deal.

I deal with Tyler T Grip Company in Okrahoma City a couple of times a year. They have always come through, sometimes early, sometimes late. It just depends on their schedule and how their orders are running.

The Tyler company seems to have more business now than they did ten to twenty years ago.

I've always found the lady good to deal with.

I sent a check for 3 black K frame square butt T-Grips on 6-2, check was cashed 6-10, T-Grips arrived 6-30.

Sent Smith & Wesson a check for a letter on 6-2, check cashed 6-11. Still waiting for letter.

Thank you very much for the offer but I believe I need a #3. Besides the Targets look great and work as well as they look so it's not like I'm stock-less.

Thanks again sir.

Well, I'm still waiting and figure I'm pushing 10 weeks. Does anyone think calling them would speed the process along any? I'd called at about week 5 or 6 and they said they were still in production but that I should see them soon.

I ordered mine in Early May and they cashed my check May 10. Originally I was told it would take 4 weeks for delivery. Well the deadline came and went so I called and called and called always getting their answer machine. I'd leave a message with never a return call. After 6 weeks I decided I'd call untill someone answered. Well after about 50 tries, I spoke to Brian, a very nice man but apparently under a lot of pressure due to the huge amount of orders he's trying to fill. After my discussion with him I received my T -grip a few days later.
I don't know if you'll have the same result as now I see their site lists an 8 week back up.

i've really wanted a pair for my 29 mtn gun, but i keep hearing about the long wait. i'm normally a very patient person. if someone tells me it'll take a month and a half, then i feel like that is plenty of time. there should be no prob. i once waited almost a year for a pair of grips from Eagle. granted, they were buffalo horn which is considered exotic. but it still shouldn't have taken that long. they didn't even apologize, or offer any compensation. i'm guess i should have demanded something extra. oh well. lives and learns.

I have a few T-grips but, sorry, I won't deal with them any more after the last order I placed. Not maintaining inventory of the most common models and subjecting customers to the resultant lengthy wait is unacceptable.

They lend a nice "retro" look to some models and have a good feel, but they are far from being the only solution.

In this day and age, it is unfathomable that a company could have a business model based on the customer paying them before they would make a $30 item.

Heck, last I checked . . . most of us have to work FIRST before we get our money and I'm sure as heck not going to then pay someone in advance before they do theirs!!!

A good forum member once sold them online (I bought some from him) and he ordered ahead and tried to keep them in stock for people. In the end, I believe it got to be too much of a hassle for him to mess with anymore. IMHO, NO retailer should have to pay 'em first either in order to stock them for the public.

There IS a ready market for Tyler T-grips but, IMHO they need to sell off the manufacturing rights and get the heck out of business . . . and let someone else do things right.

I could use a couple of Tylers right now, but I only buy them when I can order from someone who has what I want in stock. I'm sure I'm not alone in this stance.

T.

PS: You might try D&J Gun Repair. They try to keep 'em in stock and I've used them before too. Here's a link to their Tyler page:

Hope this helps . . .

I'm still waiting here and now their website says that due to the extreme heat they won't be in the shop until after 6pm. Have they heard of central air or even an air conditioner. Seems to me they have plenty of work if they're this back-logged so they should perhaps get on it.

I have to agree with many of you, keep at least the standards in-stock. They have to know that they'd sell as people continue to place orders. I guess I don't know exactly what goes into one but it seems to me that one polished aluminum SB #3 is the same as the next so how involved can it be? I also agree that it's ridiculous that they get my money, interest free for the last 10-11 weeks yet I have nothing from them.

They received my order on May 21st so I suppose there are a couple of you who were in line first but this is just dumb.

Done ranting, back to waiting.

Russia??

I'm in a similar situation with three sets of custom handgun grips. Fifteen to TWENTY weeks wait!! At least I'm waiting for a Craftsman to do this work, and he has others ahead of me. And the wait is worth it for the final product too.

Seems as if we live in 1970's Russia...out of stock and WAITING.
