U. S. District Judge David Counts Strikes Again

If six months is too long, speed up the trial. Speedy trials are in conformity with and an integral part of the Constitution.

I agree, but have you seen how broken our judicial system has become? One man's "Speedy Trial" is a defence lawyer's case for "lack of due process".

Did you ever notice when they show pics of many of the perps houses there is always all kinds of swords, battle axes and other type weapons. This to me points out a sick individual. I think they live their lives in games and can’t react with real people. If the Law would come down really hard on these idiots you would find this stuff phasing out of style.

If we lived under a system where emotional appeals dictated policy it would be chaos.

Do I detect, Sarcasm?

Once you remove one Constitutional protection, the rest of them are fair game. Now, we have "red flag" laws in many states. Some of those don't require any notice before the police go before a judge and request an order to seize firearms.

Once seized, the owner must go to court to prove his innocence before he can regain his property.

That's being expanded once again in some areas so a neighbor can claim that he is afraid even if there is no specific evidence that he can cite that there is a threat.

A basic tenet of US law is innocent until proven guilty.

Because the victim might be dead before the 6 month wait until the trial starts.

Temporary removal of firearms for a domestic abuse suspect is the right thing to do to protect the victims. Once the case is settled, and if the charged person is found not guilty, those rights should be restored.
