Ugh!!!

Since early May, with all the rain we've been having, mowing 2 yards. Probably close to half of that time, deck raised an additional 3/4" due to wet grass and the grass growing before my very eyes. Even at that, I have some windrows / clumps which I mow over as needed. Can't have any of that garbage. 1 yard is approx 3 acres and the other approx 2 acres. Depending on conditions, splitting my time between a Toro MX 5480 Titan Z-mower (54" deck) and a Kubota compact tractor BX1870 (54" deck). Lots and lots of gas and diesel. Fortunately, both fuels are free. Getting old.

This was yesterday after a quick trip to the store...I have never, ever seen anything like this around here before. Last week I still had the heat on in the house.

I don't mind the heat as much as the humidity. I've been processing a truckload of logs for firewood.
During the day, when I start sniffling, it's time to take a break. Had heatstroke before and it ain't fun.

Currently 15 Celsius with 86% humidity here in Kamloops
At least the rain has stopped for the time being
Sure could use some of that global warming I hear people talk about
It hit 76º (that's 26ºC/297 Kelvin/549 Rankine) here in Mission yesterday. Lovely! So far I've only had to fire up my home-made AC (ie earth tube) system once, when it hit 90º on May 28. But the rain's coming back for a few days. so the gardeners will be happy.

It was toasty in Cheyenne, high 80s - low 90s, for several days after the last storm but at the moment it's in the 60s and 50s with cold rain and even a sprinkle of hail last night as another storm from the north works it's way through headed east but the temps are " suppose" to be back in the 70s and 80s by the middle of the week and stay that way for a while.

You made me laugh! We had 3" of rail last Thursday and my grass was getting pretty long, so I need to mow it before it got out of control. Here's our upcoming forecast...

Yikes!! If this comes to fruition, my back yard will look like the bayou next week.

Dude, I'd swear I saw Japanese troops back there who didn't know the war was over; that stuff is getting tall!

Where's my Operation Ranch Hand?

Best,
RM Vivas

Unintended consequences, two major thoroughfares are closed because the heat caused swelling and they can’t get them closed. Using fire trucks to wet them down in an attempt to cool them. Also the bridges that weren’t open have the water traffic stoped because they don’t want to chance opening them
