After 10 years of regretting selling my 296 I was finally able to reacquire one. Just picked her up today. Not the prettiest girl on the block but she has a great personality and is very forgiving. To make it up to her I want to buy her a new pair of boot grips. Any suggestions? I attached some pics of her trying some on. (Okay not all boots but all I had)

Wow:0 That is quite an interesting looking gun. I'm no collector by any stretch, but I've never seen anything like it. Crazy, and congrats

If you are looking for concealability, go with the boot grips in photo number one.

If you looking for maximum control, go with the Hogues in photo number three.

Definitely want to go with a boot grip but not a big fan of rubber. Thought of getting some gray Hogue piranhas in G10 but they don’t make them for K/L frames. Could go with a panel grip but I don’t have much experience with them.

Nice pretty little girl but where is her ugly sister you were talking about?

I keep Ahrends Retro Banana grips on mine; however, when I qualify with it I put a set of Hogue Bantam grips on it. I made the mistake of forgetting one time. Never do that again.

Craig Spegel boot grips.

I agree with lawandorder-Spegels are the best. You'll have to wait 2 years but they're worth it. If you go to his website he has a 296 wearing his grips at the top of the page.

Those Hogues are nice too, l like the grain and the checkering.

While I was searching around the internet for grips I saw the 296 pop up a few times. I was surprised. Those Spegels look very nice! Although waiting 2 years for them is a commitment I wasn’t ready to make. If I saw a set pop up in the classified section I’d jump on it for sure.

Octagun,

You or others please tell me how you
can tell a gun is a girl or a boy for
that matter.

What do you look for?

And could it possibly be an
ugly boy?

Two years is a long time to wait but they're worth it. Right now on other auction sites sellers are offering Spegels at 2-3X his list price. He does say that he's getting older and thinking about retirement, so I didn't wait--I'm on his list, hopefully he'll make what I want when my turn comes up.
